Let the speculation begin

No no no I totally understand. You could eat a pickle by itself, especially those garlic pickles, but eating a cucumber it’s just bland. Yech…
I know it’s bland but that’s the thing - I guess I’m thinking like rist that I can see the vinegar being off-putting. As it turns out I’d rather eat pickles than cucumbers for the reason you gave but I don’t not like cucumbers.

Nothing out of this article tells me he didnt know the offense. Rather that he played too loose and not too concerned with the game. Which is a mistake young people before they usually fall on their nose to learn their lesson.

What good in knowing the plays if u can’t execute? And I’m pretty sure there was a whole situation where dude admitted he didn’t really put in the work for one of the games & just went through the motions.

Look, Rosier had his time here. He had an awesome Rudy-esque type of story for the first 10 games in 2017, but once that glass slipper came off, it was a wrap.

Theres a lot of QB coaches who knew plays and concepts but couldnt execute them. Thats my point. I'd rather have Rosier preventing TVD from making that same mistake he did.

Are we really ****ting on Rosier as a QB coach because of how he played? This isnt a Jon Richt deal here...

Rosier had bad mechanics, so it wasn’t just a matter of knowing the play book, it’s his bad mechanics that got him benched; so what qualifies him to teach good mechanics, including foot work?

Dorseys mechanics also weren't A+, if anything. Look where he is at.

Rosier is not going to be the reason TVD will be bad. TVD wont be bad. And if Ponce and or Mario are seeing something bad coming up, they will address it.

1. Dorsey did not have bad mechanics, he just didn’t have a NFL arm. Dorsey also compensated for his arm w/ his IQ, which is y he was drafted, & is now a coach at the NFL level.

2. My ? was simple; if a QB who has bad mechanics both in footwork & passing, & wasn’t a student of the game (by his own admission, his prep work wasn’t the best for Pitt), what can he teach that he himself didn’t possess or do?

i dont think I need to repeat myself, if you think Rosiers work ethic is the same now as it was back then, okay.

agree to disagree

You didn’t really compare Dorsey to Rosier, did you 😂 Holy ****, did you know that Ronald Regan and Jimmy Carter were both presidents of the United States. I’m moving on, but I think the damage you caused might last until lunchtime.

The talk was about QB coaches and how their mechanics were as college players.

People can teach the things that they werent able to execute perfectly. Tons of QB coaches played the position with less than perfect mechanics and footwork, yet they can identify and correct things.

I didnt say Dorsey is on the level that Rosier was. I used the example to demonstrate that people can be very good QB coaches whilst themselves having flaws in their fundamental mechanics. Thats perfectly fine. Otherwise, NFL teams would only hire QB coaches who played fundamentally perfect QB football from a mechanical standpoint (nope).

If both of you (@Rellyrell ) want to laugh at this perfectly simple statement as well, go for it.

@Rellyrell ....Dorseys arm wasn't terrible....it was just as Good as Torretta's....watch the game winning drive vs FSU in 2000....was throwing darts the entire drive.....It wasn't a Testaverde arm by any stretch.....but it was plenty good enough....the TD pass to Dre in 2001 vs FSU was a thing of beauty....

Oh absolutely; clearly it was good enough to get him drafted, but my point was about his mechanics. Ken had good mechanics, w/ a solid IQ for the game, which is no wonder y he’s been a sought after NFL QB coach. U don’t go 39-1 (Idgaf what 2002-3 says, we won that bowl game) w/o being a good QB.

Rosier, on the other hand, had neither good mechanics nor the IQ. Some of the best coaches either had the athletics down, or the IQ…primarily it’s the IQ. This whole back & forth is predicated upon Rosier being TVDs mentor & private QB coach, & my ? is what can he teach him, since he didn’t have the footwork or the pre-requisite IQ to maintain QB1 status? I don’t care if he’s an alum; that’s a fair ?. It’s not chitting on him, it’s trying to comprehend.

Not weird at all. Lots of people like ketchup or tomato sauce but not tomatoes. I used to like sauerkraut on my hotdogs but hated cabbage.

You guys have no imagination.
I like ketchup and tomato sauce but can’t eat tomatoes. They give me the worst heart burn. My wife can eat tomatoes like apples. I had an uncle that loved tomatoes but they gave him incredible canker sores in his mouth.

I like pickles but if I eat a cucumber, I taste it for a week. My mother-in-law makes fantastic home made sweet pickles.
