Gattis and Ponce for sure, Addae is 75%, Steele is 50/50. Some rumors that Field may be asked to move to an off-field role to let the new OC completely bring in his guys sans Mirabal.

Honestly don’t know about the defensive side as much in terms of Wright/Salvae’a etc.

I’m hoping smith stays. He’s solid. Other than him and mirabal, I’d say all positions on offense are open. Typically an OC brings along no more than 2 of his guys as on field coaches. So…that would make WRC and QBC as the primary ones but if one insists on TEC, yeah, put field in some sort of recruiting position. Incidentally, didn’t Mario hire field to be an off field recruiter when he was at Oregon?

Addae is gone imo. There have been issues bw him and dvd , supposedly.

Coaches but I don’t have inside info on timing - I just knew Ponce was gone a couple weeks ago and that it would happen at some point after the season.

Hopefully sooner rather than later. No point in keeping it a secret unless Mario is just trying to be nice and helping them land another job somewhere else.

More players should start trickling into the portal this week.

The HC, all offensive coaches, and a couple on D should be the first one.

But wait our HC won 2 power 5 conference titles. No mention that he backed into one of those 2 conference titles because of covid when he didn't have his team, with the best roster in the conference mind you, prepared to play week in and week out.

I know i have seen unprepared teams week in and week out lose with superior talent with Wario......oh wait it was this year.

And what are we paying these Assistants? This "all star" staff MC assembled blew up in his face. Ultimately, the buck stops with him.

Not that I have faith in him nailing the hires, but from what I’ve heard, he’s comfortable changing his style. He’s not dumb - he knows recruits don’t like this style of offense and we’re clearly not built for it. I think we’ll go with something more vertically imposing and creative, but that’s just me putting tidbits together.

We don’t have to worry about amassing talent. We just need to attack the portal and pray to god we get a B+ or better OC hire. That hire will tell us all we have to know about Mario’s mindset.

This season is an abomination and an absolute train wreck. You can make the argument that every single coach (including Mario) deserves to be fired (and I like Mario). But, you cannot fire the entire staff and start over, again. Too soon.

Nonnegotiable terminations: Gattis, Ponce and Addae
Would not lose any sleep: Steele and Big Joe
May Not Seem Fair but Might be Necessary: All other staff members

Honestly, other than the first group, I have no issue if Mario wants to keep certain coaches or is forced to fire others in order to hire new coordinators. There are no sacred cows on this staff.
