Historically, who’s the players that FIRST comes to mind who played at Miami that wore numbers 1-10

#1 ARMSTEAD
#2 WILLIS MCGAHEE
#3 TREMAIN MACK
#4 DEVIN HESTER
#5 THE EDGE
#6 SANTANA
#7 JAMIE GERMAN
#8 MAGIC BENTON
#9 GERALD WILLIS
#10 GEORGE MIRA

Would go all the way through #99 but not yet, maybe later lol

I'm old, I started UM in 1986.

1 - Jessie Armstead - I used to tutor him at UM, as if he needed it
2 - Charles Pharms
3 - Randal "Thrill" Hill - firing those finger-guns in the Cotton Bowl tunnel against Texas
4 - Steve Walsh - my first UM national championship as a student, my sophomore year
5 - Melvin Bratton - had the official UM football poster of Melvin Bratton on my dorm wall, so #5 is an early memory (K-Dub a close second)
6 - Kenny Berry
7 - Craig Erickson - my fellow classmate at UM in numerous Business School classes
8 - Hurlie Brown
9 - Brian Blades
10 - George Mira Sr.
11 - Ken Dorsey
12 - Jim Kelly
13 - Gino Torretta
14 - Vinnie Testaverde
Love this list. Bratton is the right call at #5. #2 no McGahee though? Like Pharms but gotta go with Willis there.

3. Gore
4. Dorsett
5. Nkosi Perry

You do realize that the title of this post is "first player who pops in your mind"…There's not a right or wrong answer lol.

Just going off of the first player I remember who dominated in that number. Charles Pharms was a great player. If I was going off my memories, I'd probably put Rohan in #2 before Willis. Nothing against Willis at all, but he just played so much later (for me).

A few years ago they went 1 through 99 and associated each number with a University. I think it was an ESPN article. Maybe not

We may have had one more, but I know we had

36 several in Blades, Lamar Thomas, Sikes
That's 4 out 5 National Championships. Maybe somebody knows who wore 36 in 83?

And

47 well that's arguably the greatest embodiment of a Cane ever . . . For life
I vaguely recall something like this on stateoftheu, I think. It was counting down 100 days to the season and they listed off greatest player to wear xx in succession, and some other players who wore the same number

Speaking of targeting / monster hits on the previous page…

Roscoe just wasn’t ever the same after P.K. Sam nailed him in that 2003 FSU rain game. 😢

I thought it was the VT game that cracked his collar bone, no?
