How much does ACC football make?
The ACC reported $497 million in revenue for the fiscal year 2020 and that was an average of right around $33 million per school with the lowest being $30.9 million and the highest being $37 million to Clemson.Aug 5, 2021.

The 2019 - 2020 each ACC school made over $40MM..

There’s plenty of money to hire a competent staff. UM chooses not to…

There’s money. And then, there’s real money. Like having your first time starting QB with 800k+ in the bank. Miami will never win an arms race with the likes of Bama, OsU, Okie, Clemson, UGA,. It wont happen. I get your point about having money to go get competent people. The problem is, the people doing the hiring think the staff is competent. What former NFL head coaches are coming to Miami to work as coordinators under Manny?

That looks great in a vacuum, but it’s with the PAC-12 for lowest payouts from P5 conferences. Additionally, it’s not what you spend, but what you spend comparative to other schools. Alabama spent $74 million on football in 2019. Certain schools have made it a mission to have a top flight football program. The University of Miami isn’t one of them, and honestly never were. Even when we dominated CFB, the program was hated by the administration.

Unless there is some kind of philosophical shift in the schools thinking, this is just who we are. We’ll catch lightning in a bottle every now and again and maybe win the ACC(maybe). But I would hope for much more.

You do realize that we have lost to every other ACC school, right? They get that money too.
Miami will always be competing with other schools with money for coaching hires.
The next hire will be a Shannon/Golden hire.

The reason miami joined the ACC is because they wanted other teams to do the heavy lifting and we go cheap and still make money for other sports. They give zero ***** about program and will hire a cheap asst as HC before even conducting a real search.. This has been said multiple times, they just want the team to stay out of headlines and win enough games where the homers and tailgaters are in enough trance that they sing "its great to be a miami hurricane" while getting gaped on national tv by UNC to Bama..

When realist and mopes say something, they just try to shush them while they count the money that is never reinvested into the program.. Again, they give ZERO *****

Mo’ MONEY no issue
Mo’ COACHING is the issue

we keep being out coached

still no evident progress on my CANES

You almost hit on the problem going forward or somewhat did rather.

The biggest hurdle now is two fold.

First, the big schools can hire the best coaches as they have deeper pockets due to larger alumni bases. This has been true for a long time. Better coaches, trainers, support staff, etc all costs money.

Second, what coach will want to come here to make less than he would elsewhere. On top of that, players can now make money and why would a coach want to come here when a players is going to see what they could make elsewhere in comparison to here. Missing on those players will make their job harder, so they'll head elsewhere.

There's money here, but it's not the kind of money to compete with the bigs. We might here and there, but it's time people accept the glory years are dead and buried.

You're right, we do have enough money for a competent coaching staff, but that competent coaching staff would demand of us to spend 3x more than what they cost almost yearly to make sure we have the latest facilities, equipment, etc... because that's what our competition is offering these coaches. Miami neither has that doe, nor are they even interested in ever spending that much on football.

CFB is the NFL without a salary cap and only the programs that can spend the most money will get the best coaches and players.

Wow, some of the excuses..there’s plenty to hire a competent staff. UM choose not to!

And yeah, there’s more income and less expenses to be a competent, productive team on the field. Not the continuous clown show that is broadcasted. No it won’t be the SEC but definitely to perform better than what’s occurred for several years now.

Amazing the brainwashing.

Alabama makes five times more just by football. Miami makes likes 60 million for the entire department.

We have money, but its peanuts compared to what they have. I actually spoke with a friend who went to Alabama during the mid 2000s and he told me "We got 20 million from the state during the Covid relief and we dont really need it. Its nice to have, but we spend more than enough and make more than enough".

Theres levels to this game and we cant compete. And before anyone mentions Clemson, their boosters hammer money in like crazy and the universities athletic department doesnt care about graduation or other sports. Football gets them the most money, so thats where everything goes. If the university cared as much as Clemson did, we wouldnt have this conversation.

Has nothing to do with money. That's what people here who are still living in 80s deluluville dont get.

It has everything to do with whether we're alllowed to actually SPEND that money to build the massive empires that other favored schools are allowed to build.
If we're going to get smashed with NCAA garbage for Benihana steak dinners and yacht parties while other programs are allowed to spend 300k on ONE recruit...there is literally nothing Miami or any AD, coach, President or Board can do. NOTHING.

Tell us who they should hire then genius.

Matt Campbell from ISU who makes $4M++
(https://dailycaller.com/2021/03/18/report-matt-campbell-extension-4-million-annually-base-salary/)

or Luke Fickell who makes $3.5M+ (https://dailycaller.com/2020/08/25/cincinnati-football-luke-fickell-contract-extension-salary/)

People there ls more than enough money at and around the university to spend as much or more than the Bamas and OSUs of the world. Those schools care about winning. Our leadership doesn’t. There’s hundreds of millions of dollars flowing through Miami. It’s just that the powers that be don’t want to spend the necessary money to make the football program a powerhouse on a yearly basis.

Michigan and Texas have more money than god and they still suck. Money is not an issue. Sick of hearing about money. It's who you hire and how good they are.

lol this aint 1983. It has nothing to do with how you hire or how good they are. It has everything to do with what you're allowed to do with your money.
