I would love nothing more than to believe these sweet and soothing words, but if it’s one group of people I trust the least in this world, it is Bible thumpers.

Richt will look at all that cash and he’s gonna get googly eyed. He’s gonna tell the world “God” wants him to have that $20 million, so he can remain on a spiritual journey to save these young men’s soul through football.

Just wait and see!

I don't watch much network TV. I know he was on the apprentice. Don't think he was that big a deal, but if you think trump was a mega celebrity, I'll defer to you. Regardless, trump had no juice to get leach to Miami at the time.

Let's assume an asteroid strikes Coral Gables in the next 30 secs.

Perhaps an Aunt Betsy grows a d!ck and becomes Uncle Bob.

Those are all more realistic assumptions than Richt retiring at the end of this season.

I never watched an episode of the apprentice but you'd have to be living under a rock to not know who Donald Trump was in 2010. The idea of Leach then is as insane as it is now.

I know who Trump was in 2010. A dude who went bankrupt a lot and pretended to be richer than he was, ran for prez and quit a bunch of times, and had a bad TV show. I don't think that qualified him as a mega celebrity. You are arguing with yourself. Trump didn't have pull to get Leach a job in 2010.

The idea of leach isn't that he is a great coach. It's that there are issues like sec cheating and acc officiating that kills us. Miami will continue to get spurned by the most elite recruits since they are getting bought by the sec. It's a widely known fact that even Rick had SFL recruits bought (Sony Michel). If you know of another coach that addresses those particular issues, I'd like to hear the name.

Could care less about this board, I never have. I've been around since the Grassy days so I've seen the admin/coach loving *** kissing morons come and go 100 times over.

If they promote Diaz and get a top 5 offensive coordinator I'd be on board with that.

Otherwise, bring me an ******* who gives zero *****. Someone like Briles or Kiffin. Enough with the nice guys.

First off this is hate speech if directed at any group of people besides Christians. Second, when has Richt been untrustworthy or just out for money. The man gave his own money to this school.

I want changes with Richt the coach but attacking the man personally is dumb. Doing so because of his beliefs no less just speaks bad about you.

I don't think Richt should be fired, but if we're assuming he retires (as the thread title says), I'd want to hire Butch. The guy who would absolutely kill it here, but would be way too expensive, is Dabo Swinney.

How is it hate speech??? Catholic priests molesting kids for a millinnia, false prophets claiming to heal the sick for $$$$, and televangelists soliciting tens of millions of dollars frim the poor so they can purchase private jets isn’t “hate speech”. It’s facts!

Yeah there are bad ones. However if I were to say I don’t trust any other group of people because of the worst of what their group has done, I’d be banned right away.

Dabo would be great, but he is probably going to Bama after Saban retires. Kendal Briles is good, but I would like to see him as a HC first. Brohm too (but might be worth the risk). Cristobal, I'm not sure how much an upgrade yet. Peterson isn't leaving the PNW. Leach has baggage, but it's not any #MeToo stuff so that at least plays in his favor. The reason I don't dismiss him out of hand is the Trump leverage helping with the sec cheating and acc refs.

Pipe dream that could work out if stars align is Ohio St firing Meyer, but we probably couldn't afford. There is always Jon Gruden after he quits the Raiders :hypnotysed:

That's my point. With any other President, they wouldn't care about CFB cheating. But leach is trump's boy. Trump literally wanted Leach at Miami. Wrote letter to shalala and BOT in support. I'm not making this up. You have to capitalize on once in a lifetime opportunities. POTUS will be 1000% in Miami's corner. Never thought I'd see the day. Think about all the ways to leverage that. Be a criminal mastermind, not just a fan who just passively accepts getting screwed by Tobacco Road and losing recruits to SEC bags.

Leach isn't going to complain about sec cheating to Trump right now because Leach is in Washington state, and he isn't competing with the sec for recruits. If he is in S Fl that's a different story. Its not that Leach is an amazing coach. Its that he has a relationship that can fix two of Miami's biggest problems- ACC officials and SEC bags. This is the Lex Luthor/Kingpin hire. No Xs and Os coach will have as much effect as having the ability to ask the President of the United States put his thumb on the scale. You really think it's impossible to wake up in the morning and see a tweet from President Trump saying:

"Hear CHEATERS in CFB paying 4 Recruits. SAD. Some1 needs 2 look in2 this #MMGA"
