Harley dropped passes, not “he didn’t make a catch on a terribly thrown ball”. He did so this game and he did so against Bama. He is one that I am not concerned about, it let’s be clear, those balls hit him squarely in the hands. He will either step up (put in the time and get back to being reliable) or be replaced by Restrepo. But some of you need to look yourselves in the mirror. A drop is a drop. It’s not “he made the catch when it mattered”. If he made the first few catches that were bad drips, there wouldn’t be any pressure for “when it matters”. Look at the top teams im CFB, when the ball hits the kids will in the hands, they catch it. Anything short is a FAILURE! I like Harley too. Hope he gets his act together and leads by example.
K Smith is a breath of fresh air. That catch where he laid out to grab the ball was AWESOME! Need more like him! He is 100% EVERY play and I am hoping that he develops the voice for others to follow his leadership.
Mallory better figure it out. He is not getting drafted playing like this, not even as a flyer. He wants to go to the league, he better put in the extra practice to get it right. Right now he is complete garbage, both as a pass catcher and as a blocker.
Would love to see what the 3 freshmen have to offer but I am realistic that they are working their way up and likely haven’t developed any chemistry with King…but who has as of this point. But our leaders need to lead by example and step up and that includes Harley and Mallory. Rambo hasn’t looked great either, but this is first year, so he gets a break for perhaps another game.
