I was sitting at the dentist yesterday listening to his fat face muse about Saban and college football (two things he obviously knows nothing about). His grand conclusion? That Alabaga is going to win it all every year until Saban retires or goes back to the NFL because he has every advantage and NOW (for some reason only clear to Lebatard) he's going to be getting ALL the QB's. His genius hypothesis was that the last decade was the time to "get" Alabaga because Saban was not getting the QBs.

Any of the Lebatard apologists want to explain Danny Fatface's rationale here? I've never looked forward to the squeal of the dentist's drill more.

Been avoiding this guy since he was Assistant Sports Editor of the Miami Hurricane Newspaper....bout 30 years now.

All of the built-in bias against him and whatever his history down here is aside, I find it most insulting how ill and under-informed the guy is. The last time I listened to him he was ranting about how Hard Rock was the worst college environment in the country- a clear example of him having not actually been to a Canes game in years. He must be watching them all over at Billy Cohen's place.....our two national "authorities" on Miami football....that strangely are never seen anywhere near.....actual Miami football.

Actually Cohen (Corben) sat near me at the FSU game last year (2016) with a not half bad chick. Doubt he’s a season ticket holder because I could tell it was his first time sitting in those seats.

Probably a front runner that shows up only to big games.

As far as LeBatard, he’s too busy binge eating on the weekends to bother showing up.

People miss out on the mass shared endorphin and euphoria rush that you get at games like ND and VT. It sounds corny, but it’s true. Shared communal joy like that is a drug.

If you were there, you know what I mean, if you weren’t you think this is stupid, but you’re the one that missed out. It’s a drug like no other.

He and Cohen watch the games on Luke's 32" flat screen in his garage, it's the Holy Trinity of Miami football.

Hahaha. The Feast would join but his kid has a soccer game or something.

Well it’s kinda true. Tua is their first ever legit qb. All they were really missing under the Saban era was kicker and qb

Even if we're assuming that a half makes one "legit" this does nothing to explain Fatface's statement that NOW Saban will be getting ALL the QBs.

Not sure he's that off base. Saban's had for the most part, average QBs. They've never really had a special player back there. If this kid Tua is the second coming of Deshaun Watson, he might be right about them winning a bunch more titles.

I'm not even questioning anything about this Tua kid. Lebatard was framing it as though somehow the floodgates have magically opened on Saban now getting all the FUTURE top QBs.

Again, why? Because he benched a starter in a championship game? Because there's going to be some ripple effect of kids wanting to be the guy that Tua gets benched for? Because kids will all of a sudden ignore Saban's atrocious record of producing NFL QBs? Because all of a sudden the top QBs will be as easy to buy as the other positions on his team? Because Saban has only been getting 2 star QBs to go there for the last decade?

Sure, satan is on a roll, not unlike belicheat and the pats, but it won't last forever. Lefattard's logic is not logical, so it's no use in trying to understand it. As far as Tua goes, the kid has talent for sure, but Ga didn't prepare for the kid, so they got caught off guard. The loss was totally on Ga. Satan was desperate, he had no other choice but to put in the freshman, they weren't winning with Hurt, and they got lucky. So how is satan a coaching genius?

I assume you mean under Saban. Bama had good history of QBs under the Bear — Bart Star,Joe Wiile, Ken the Snake. All won Super Bowls.

Tua was a 5 star, Hurts was a 4 star, Blake Barnett 5 star, Cornwell high 4 star...those are his last 4 QBs signed. I think Lebatard is probably being hyperbolic of course, and his logic is probably flawed (which may be your point), but I don't see a reason they won't continue to get one of the top QBs every year as they have historically.

Exactly. Nothing has changed aside from people thinking this Tua kid is legit- which may or may not have ramifications on the next 2 years but is certainly not the longterm missing domino in Alabaga winning the next 10 in a row as Danny Fatface is framing it.
