Leaving early?

WR Mike Thomas is #OhioState 's 8th player to leave early for NFL draft>I spoke to an NFL scout who LOVES Thomas' competitiveness.

OSU losing a lot of guys

I wonder how Urban's heart is. Might have to take a leave for medical reasons

**** that. We all know he left cause he was banging all of Trey Burtons female posse while he smashed his daughter.

IMO, Cardale Jones didn't make a poor decision. Urban Meyer made a moronic choice when he panicked and changed quarterbacks in midseason, bowing to conventional wisdom "system fit" idiocy.

Otherwise another national championship was very possible if he remained with Jones, who may not have looked the part in that scheme but he's exactly what you need in huge games against premier opponents. Jones is a load. Plus he has excellent touch and downfield ability. He plays incredibly relaxed with no fear. I loved it last season when first Nick Saban and then the Oregon coaching staff had absolutely no answer for him.

J.T. Barrett is a fair weather player who looks swell when the play develops as intended. Those guys are a dime a dozen. I've seen quarterbacks within that same program who looked identical to Barrett, going all the way back to Cornelius Greene. This is the first time they had a unique frame and talent set in Cardale Jones.

Besides, J.T. Barrett had already demonstrated that he gets rattled and makes huge errors when the initial read is covered. Bud Foster thoroughly confused him in that 2014 game at Columbus. That Virginia Tech team was no **** good. Good enough to hold Barrett to 9 for 29 passing including 3 second half interceptions. It was laughable. Everybody was blaming the offensive line even though Barrett was paralyzed and creating sacks.

Fast forward 14 months and Barrett looked similarly overmatched against Michigan State and its woeful pass defense. He managed 46 yards and 2.9 YPA. Neither are misprints. Cardale Jones was yanked despite an excellent 8.3 YPA in 2015. Urban Meyer was rewarded with Barrett at 6.7 YPA and another home loss as double digit favorite, this time -14 versus Michigan State alongside -11 last year hosting Virginia Tech.

Nice call, Urban. The conventional wisdom types will never question a move like that, not even today, given the results. Chris Spielman was calling for system fit Barrett and so was Robert Smith. Countless others. Meanwhile you dodged another national title opportunity and somehow ended up #7 ranked heading into the bowls despite an amazing roster.

I realize the early mentions in this thread regarded Jones' pro potential for the 2015 draft, not college opportunity later in the fall. I have my doubts he would have been picked anywhere close to the lofty projections. Very intriguing prospect. He reminds me somewhat of James Harris, the huge Rams quarterback of the mid '70s who had a great deep ball and nice touch but not the highest degree of patience. Harris in that era was never given as much opportunity as he deserved, IMO. Still too many Al Campanis types occupying high places in that era, pre Doug Williams and that Super Bowl.

Ramsey was a great safety.. He should play there in the NFL, he did not do as much this year at CB.. Derwin James is a beast.
