Leave the ACC!

If we could get an AD and coach that conmand some semblance of respect then maybe we won't get hosed to this degree. Refs hating us isn't new but it's really bad right now. Need people in charge that command respect for that to change

My son (a Summa *** Laude Finance alum) and I discused this at halftime, spurred by the Anti Canes Conference refs. Think about it: Miami is not a traditional conference power. 4 out 5 titles were as an independent and the 5th in a conferance which has no D1 football schools in it now. The 'Canes have no historic conferance allegiance and obviously the ACC has no love either. The key is using Adidas and its huge soccer power (wonder who helped push Blatter out?) to force a deal. We originally thought of Fox/FS1/FS2, since their inventory of East Coast games is spotty or sub-par (C-USA), but a better option has come into focus: NBC. Yes, home of that South Bend team but also the EPL.

ESPN is losing money and the business model of overpaying for rights fees and then featuring those leagues for which they have paid for endlessly with talk shows is getting stale. Conference consolidation may have made sense five years ago, but BYU is proof, if you have a $$ stream, you can go it alone.

- Adidas subtely hints to NBC that South Bend Team's UA deal really doesn't help their football exposure and in five years or less, such soccer leagues as La Liga and Bundisliga will be coming available for bid.

-Adidas will "help" NBC and NBC SN obtain an inventory windfall of soccer at ESPN and Fox's expense, but for non-soccer fan exposure, Adidas has a favor to ask...Via coordination of home and bye games, NBC has a CONTINUOUS presence every Saturday in College Football, by featuring the overly traditional South Bend Team one week AND the original moldbreakers, the Miami Hurricanes, the next. Trouble scheduling for Miami? Really, with a national TV audience?!? ****, just think what it could do for home attendance having Pac 12 Oregon or Oklahoma coming back to S.Fla! No ACC academic prestige without the ACC? Shoot, NBC beats ESPNU hands down, especially if you put in the contract that in addition to the usual Deco Drive and Beach shots, the bumper breaks show the nice parts of campus, students sunbathing, etc. Applications WILL increase for sure!

All it takes is Frank to get his friend Carlos Slim (who owns a good chunk of Mexican and Spanish soccer) to talk business w/Adidas.

Man, being able to to tell Swofford and his tobacco road cronies to stick a Coach K rat up their *** would be awesome!
