Le Batard and Corben are enemies of the program

And what? For all his faults, we got a booster that is visible and is actively working to deal with our player athletes. High school kids know this. Who does FSU have? So how does this hurt us? Mike can run his mouth all he wants--he's got nothing. This is free attention if you ask me to a benefit that comes with playing here-- a visible booster.

I don't know why some of you are sensitive about what is just nonsense. Because I don't think anyone is really taking LeBo or Corben that seriously.

Seems straightforward to me:
- Is LeBatard bad for Miami?Yes
- Is Billy bad for Miami? Yes
- Is Ruiz good for Miami? Yes
- Are the twins good for Miami? Yes

Given those simple points, LeBatard and Billy can get ****ed.

Furthermore, Ruiz running his mouth does not even remotely outweigh the bad that those two pricks bring toward the school.

I'm going to call them out for being the unpaid mouthpieces for the NCAA and our competitor programs. They talk the same garbage that Mike Norvell will use to recruit against us.
Mike Ryan is an insufferable **** as well.

A pox upon all their houses.

All three of those fuqtards read this board.

So for the cheap seats...

**** you, you vapid and vacuous twatwaffles.

Again, understand all that but I believe the issue with this is that it happened before they enrolled at Miami and Ruiz should have known that before hosting dinner

So what? They entered the transfer portal in March. The dinner was in April. Chronologically, the NCAA can't argue (or otherwise prove) they entered the portal as an inducement. And once they are in the portal, why should their NIL negotiations be conducted any differently from HS recruits who also aren't "enrolled at Miami," or any other university, like, for instance, FU (see Rashada vs. **** Collective)?

Besides, the "being enrolled" vs. "not being enrolled part" is a complete red herring. Had they been enrolled at the time of the dinner, if the dinner was not connected to NIL opportunities, there would be an argument it's an impermissible benefit (i.e., something of monetary value from a booster in exchange for nothing). The critical aspects are: (1) they were already in the transfer portal; (2) the dinner was simply the venue for NIL negotiations; and (3) in much the same way business is conducted throughout the free ******* world.

Once again, get all that! So, you want boosters/schools to have a free for all on NIL to get transfers to attend there?? It's different than the free ******* world or even regular recruiting would be a free for all. ****, officially it might be as I do not know entirely the NIL rules.

I think this is exactly where we are. And for years before NIL it was already like that for certain schools doing dirt under the table playing by one set of rules while the rest of us played by another.

It really is that simple.

What kind of totalitarian state are you proposing where no one can say anything bad about the local sports team? I mean, darn. Have you read what's uttered on these boards?!

For all the tough guy bravado on this board, you all get really bent out of shape over some words.

Corbin at least made a couple cool Cane documentaries. Lebatard is a fat tub of **** crybaby. He is everything wrong with sports media and a worthless POS.

i'm an alum and a fan and i care about how we do on the field, not whether random media members supposedly have "grudges" against the team. hilarious to insinuate you have to fly off the handle about stuff like this to be a UM fan, but i guess that's the caliber of discussion on here.

I am an alumni and a fan and I care about how my (allegedly, our) university is depicted and slandered in the national media. For most (but I guess not all) alumni, UM is about more than just how the football team does on the field.

And don't be obtuse. These aren't "random" media members. These are two guys with a history of coming at this program, notwithstanding the fact they are both alumni who sometimes pretend to care about this city and its premier university.

If you can't understand why UM alumni and fans are upset by members of the national media who are UM alumni and claim to represent the interests of the City of Miami, but consistently take shots at the University of Miami (and have recently done so in the context of a trumped up NCAA investigation into UM's NIL practices), I'd say the failure lies with you.

lol, if you genuinely care this much that a multibillion dollar private university is being "slandered" in the media there's nothing i can do to help you. canes football is fun, that doesn't mean you have to grovel at the feet of the institution.

Nobody is groveling here, just calling out a couple of ******** that have a megaphone, and are bad mouthing the program with lies.

If people that actually care about the university call this out, and it bothers you, there’s something wrong with you, not them.

Sounds like you got a hair up your *** about your two boyfriends.

How are we on a canes board with people questioning the taking of issue with these guys???

It is always interesting to me when people claim they not to care, but feel the need to let everyone else know they don't care, while calling out others for caring. It seems to me that if you really didn't care, you wouldn't have ever commented in this thread. That is, after all, the easiest thing to do.
