I want to be very pinpoint here.

There are a lot of women who are very knowledgeable about sports, generally, though there are probably fewer who are great at football analysis, just on a statistical and experiential basis. So many commentators in football are people (guys) who have played the game, so it skews the statistics in such a way that there are very few female football commentators.

Having said that, we also have had the more recent phenomenon of female sports reporters/commentators being hired...SEEMINGLY...more for their good looks than for their insightful analysis. And don't get me wrong, it's possible to have the total package, but it's not a guarantee.

The short version of that windup is that we do sometimes experience the "very attractive sports commentator" who is given a lot more credibility for bad opinions (based on current job and job title) than is truly earned. It happens.
I’ve never heard of this woman until I saw this thread.

But in response to your post. Yes, you’re right.

And historically we’ve seen many former players fall flat on their face attempting to be sports commentator. They understand the game they’re watching, sure, but lack of the ability to connect to their audience. Joe Montana was terrible as a color commentator. Troy Aikman excels as one.

I enjoyed Suzy Kolber on ESPN. Not sure I would really call her an analyst though. I’m sure after all those years covering the sport she understood the game on a certain level, but she often shared the set with former players. It’s been a while, but I can’t ever recall her breaking down a defense or offense for the audience. Maybe she did and I just missed it and should be correct in my assumption.

And like Joe Namath, I really wanted to kiss her. :) She’s a Cane :)

And now we venture into the category of football entertainment. I saw a few clips of the new Undisputed, with Richard Sherman, Keyshawn Johnson, and our own Michael Irvin, joining Skip Bayless. The program is awful. First clip I saw was Richard Sherman criticizing advice Irvin gave to CeCe Lamb. Something about catching the ball with your body instead of your hands when tightly covered by the defensive back. Playmaker lost it when Sherman criticized him, and had to yell to the world how great he was and should never be questioned. It was embarrassing.

Maybe it’s just an act, like I said, football entertainment. Playmaker is little more than a character. And hopefully a highly paid one!

Is it sexist to say Men don’t know crap about putting on makeup or discussing the best blush ? I’m sure there’s guys out there who know about that but a very low percentage actually do. Very few women watch sports and even a lower percentage of them actually know their *** from their elbow about them. These ladies are hired because they’re pretty and nice to look at it. Now that should be considered sexist. It’s odd you don’t see many fat or ugly chicks in these positions on Tv. I guess fat , ugly chicks aren’t so savvy with the sports takes.

Oh my bad , i’m not supposed to speak truth lmao.

Yep, i’m talking crazy. A high percentage of women hired on sports channels are hot and under 45. It’s almost like the people in management know 99 percent of the viewers are men and like pretty women. I‘m outraged , where’s all my male feminists?

Well, that point is irrelevant anyways because I got LSU winning that game. The real question is whether they will be ranked at all after they lose to Clemson and start the year 2-2.

I love the full female panels talking with authority on male sports.

Seems reasonable and inclusive lol.
