Latest on Diaz from BJ

Absolute picture perfect bad timing too if he does leave. Can't get a d-coord hired within a week, so why would any defensive recruits want to sign next week not even knowing who their coach will be, what scheme will be run, etc? I know I wouldn't if I was in their shoes. And, of course, the defensive side if the only thing holding Surge19 together right now.

******* Hidenburg, man!

I understand why Manny would try to get the job. Programs has either went for other head coaches or OC. DC almost have to jump at whatever HC jobs that show interest. With that being said, as good as Manny has been for Miami. Miami has been good for Manny. I'm not shedding tears if he leaves.

Exactly.

They won't sign early if we have no DC and that is why I think that Jess Simpson or Rumph will get the job.

University of Miami defensive coordinator Manny Diaz is receiving strong consideration for the head coaching job at Temple and interviewed with Temple on Monday, according to two industry sources.

Diaz did not respond to text messages asking if he interviewed for the Temple job on Monday or if there’s any message he would like to convey about his plans.

UM also declined to comment, referring all questions to Diaz and Temple.

Per 560 WQAM, he was also the only candidate who interviewed yesterday who stayed overnight, whatever that means.

he hired manny
he hired simpson.
hes stubborn w his o, but he def hit a homer on d

Oddly enough recruiting excluded he's hit on all of defensive hires since being here. It's like a pitcher that can hit home runs but cant throw strikes.

This program has hit an iceberg with Richt at the helm. Manny is a smart guy, he’s not going to wait for it to sink to the bottom of the ocean and be fired. He’s going to strike while the iron is hot and try to advance his career.

I heard Dnofrio is available. Richt and Dnofrio can combine the wefense with the awfense and break all sorts of records. Would be a site to see!

The BIAS is REAL!!!!
You would be ok with 8 wins with Manny but you are not ok with 8 wins with Richt after he won 9 and 10 games?? LOL!!!

Ever heard the saying "jumped the shark?"

Manny would be a 1st time HC, likely making around $3 mil per year. Richt's making over $4 mil per year and has close to 20 years of HC experience. How you don't see the difference is beyond me.

I think Mork calls Randolph immediately if Manny leaves, and dolph is in a pretty good gig now, considering EVERYBODY knows Morks ship is sinking i would be hesitant to jump on board. I know i know UCF is not Miami, but if he jumped what happens next year when Mork steps down after being smoked by Ufag AND the seminholes by 10 should they sign Briles, along with his usual 2 head scratch losses

Mannys stock is as hot as it's ever been and probably will be. He obviously is frustrated by the Offense and Special Teams.

He'd be a fool not to leave. Richt ain't gonna change.

Good for him.
And fugg him. Emotional opinion obviously.
But look at we have on defense next year and what coach would not want to come be part of that.
We’re not talking about a recruit wanting to go to the “cool” front runner school.
This is a high paying job at a great school with a bunch of freaks on defense in place with the ability to get more.
3 years at Miami is giving a dude a hc gig. Coaches have egos. Just like many in here were throwing dog Shiite on cmr for having manny as the dc and many threads in how he has to get fired, there are some coaches out there saying “I can’t belive that moron has the best d in the country” “if I was there no one would score”.
The problem I see is the timing for recruiting and the decision some of he juniors would make if manny leaves.

The other candidate Mike Elko has extensive ties to the northeast, especially New Jersey and Philly....one has to think he has just as much chance at the Temple gig.

and has an SEC background at ATM along with a prior stop at ND
