Latest Barry Jackson Miami Herald article about Richt

The summary is this team is going nowhere under Richt and he is going to prove to everyone that he is in charge as the ship starts taking on water. Richt will apparently go down with the ship (his alma mater) and feels quite comfortable in doing so. Our AD and BOT should react as any business owner /manager would by moving on quickly instead of watching this slow-motion crumble happen, but as we know the BOT is always making their moves at least 1-2 years late.

Our BOT has no clue about football or how to hire a head coach, our AD is worthless and is merely a bargain basement seat filler who adds nothing to the equation. Talent is all over south Florida and our administration does everything that it can to shoo it away, another great example of ineptitude in UM history!

Cager considering a transfer? Lol. Underachieve somewhere else.

EVEN Cager knows the receivers behind him that ride the bench all year are better than him and he would rather transfer than get passed up, but yet Richt left old hands-of-stone out there all year instead of getting more PT to Pope, Hightower and Wiggins. When your own players know the truth and the coaches don't that is a great sign that it is time to move on.

I just don't understand how someone like James can have a position of immense power and authority, yet still let an employee he manages dictate the terms of an annual evaluation. This baffles me. I wonder how this would fly in other businesses or at other universities. He is giving all the power to an inferior employee when his position is mostly dependent upon that power. Fu.ck that article was depressing.

The Turds will win that opening game by three TDS at least. Then this chitshow will just explode........and the university will do nothing and finally fall below FSU in academics.

Blake says RICHt isn’t good being 7-5 but RICHt hasn’t said **** and they don’t have a meeting scheduled. Blake will try to catch up w RICHt during dead period. But RICHt has zero respect for Blake, so it’s kind of like a dork following the prom queen around to see if she’ll say “hi.” Blake will get excited when RICHt acknowledges he exists. RICHt won’t do **** bc he doesn’t have to.
That's about right! Richt got some compromising pictures in his top pocket of James whenever he comes lurking around he takes it out and show it to him....James stick his tail between his leg turn around walk away and kick rocks.

Well... Blame the extension...

Richt knows James wouldn't be able to come up with the buyout $$$, so Richt has all the power...

It would have been a different tune if this was his contract year and he knew that the gig would be up for him, his wife and son...

“It will start to happen over the next week and a half,” James said on that radio interview. “We go into a dead period after Sunday Dec. 16, and the coaches are around more. Once he gets back in the office and we can sit and talk, that’s what we’ll do. What that means I don’t know. But I do know Mark is competitive. Mark is not OK with being 7-5. He is going to make the changes that are needed for us to operate on the highest level possible.”

So has Richt told James that he plans to make significant changes or minor changes or any changes at all?

James told me that Richt has not conveyed that answer at this point.

“He has not given me any indication,” James said via text message, “and has not specifically addressed any type of change other than recognizing we need to operate at a higher level.”

Translation - No one is doing their job and this program is FVCKED.

There's still a possibility something will happen, but I'm already baking in not renewing my season tickets, not going to games next year, and watching on TV only for laughs and self-flagellation. Seriously depressing.

Merry Christmas, fam.
Bah, humbug!

In order for Miami to make changes Richt will have to demote/fire his kid and Brown. No way will that happen. Only changes that will occur is if people find other jobs. We are going to be stuck as a program that wins 7-10 games annually for the foreseeable future.
sounds about right 10 is real stretch although the schedule looks very weak.
think Coastal is weakest power 5 division in football s in essence the Deacon will survive with this average type of performance

Your argument makes logical sense, but there are still things he could do to put some pressure on Richt. Ultimately, the university pays all the coaches salaries. I can't imagine every coach has a guarantee of employment. Maybe they can't afford to fire CMR, but they can afford to fire anybody else. So, maybe Richt has something in his contract that gives him full authority over hiring and firing of assistants. Blake still can fire them and let Richt fight that battle in court. If that's even an option for breaking an employment contract. Also, Blake could pretend to have the backing of a booster to pay Richts buyout if he doesn't make changes. I guarantee you that a ruthless CEO at another company wouldn't just be sitting back waiting for Richt to approach him for a yearly evaluation.

Sounds like nothing but great news and big things upcoming for the Miami Hurricanes

Am I just beginning to figure out your schtick, or do you really believe that? If the former, my hats off to you, man. You've absolutely had me going for months.

Please tell me you are really a Face who has just been enjoying the crap out of playing Heel since the UVA debacle, that would be hilarious.

Wonder if anyone has the balls to fire Jon as a shot across the bow. Doubtful...but if someone from the staff needs to go...I think he's first up.
