Just curious, who have been some of the better late bloomers that didn’t blow up until their senior year?

I’m curious to see if they were able to continue their momentum into their college career. Especially in this day and age where there is so much film/social media out there.

Eddie Jackson, Broward to Bama. Josh Jacobs, Oklahoma to Bama. Cam Ward, Houston to Incarnate Word. Gavin Mueller, Chicago to UM. There are guys who blow up their Senior seasons literally every year.

You are really going to compare Mueller to 3 NFL guys when he hasn't even played a snap in college

He blew up his SR year, that's a fact. That's not saying what he will do from here on out. But he went from being a Montana Jr College recruit to being recruited by lots of big-time programs.

He did blow up into a top 100 player but he was committed to Colorado with OV’s to Wisconsin and LSU the spring before his Senior year.

Didn't realize that. Then "blew up" is likely an exaggeration. But as far as from Canes fans' perspective, he seemed to come out of nowhere.

Does anyone know what he rating was before Senior season?

Below are his composite rankings. He played his first game of senior season on 8/29/25. We offered on 10/12/25. It was still an impressive jump in rankings.

Although they didn’t finish top 100, Joel Ervin and Ben Cogdon had similar impressive jumps in their rankings and we were on them much earlier. Especially Ervin who we offered before his junior season as his 3rd P4 offer.
