Latavious Brini

Rivals article today is an interview with his brother Montavious Brini. Basically says that if he (Montavious) gets an offer that it's more likely that Latavious will come to Miami. They want to play together in college despite being 2 years apart, it's a factor for each of their decisions.

Montavious is a RB/LB and said that our staff likes him at LB because of his frame, but they want to see him get faster to get an offer from us. He's coming off an ACL/MCL sprain and only played in 4 games last year. I've read that Montavious is already faster than his brother though.. kinda doesn't make sense to me.

Always seemed to me that Latavious played as if he wanted to get out of Miami, made excuses to not come to Miami. Could this be the reason? Just because his brother doesn't have an offer? Latavious is committing on July 31, I don't think we offer his brother just to get him, wouldn't look good on the part of needing to evaluate other guys, then we offer a 2019 kid. He'll probably commit to UGA then we can make a run after we offer his brother later in the year and make him reconsider. I still like Edwards more than Brini though.

Is Latavious even that good to be making demands about who Miami needs to offer to acquire his commitment? I would only consider doing something like that for a high four or five star kid. I don't think you do that sort of thing for the Brini's of the world.
 
Makes sense. Wont commit here because his brother doesn't have an offer. Yet is going to commit to a school who also hasn't offered his brother. I get the vibe montavious is trying to use a offer from us to pimp around and then jet like his brother and many others. Honestly neither are that good and if the 2018 kids commit here with the linebackers we have and are coming neither would see the field here.

Last time I checked, Georgia hasn't offered Montavious Brini either. This situation reminds of the Alexander brothers from three years ago.
 
Pete mentioned in the podcast that it's a battle between Miami and Georgia now for LBrini. Montavious Brini came to a UM camp recently and told the staff that its not over yet with his brother which is different from what the staff was feeling before that was said.

Brini comes again for another visit before his decision on July 31st. The staff is gonna push hard to try and secure him.



I will tell you guys because I knew both of the Brini brothers before recruiting ever blew up for them. Miami has always been their favorite school, I don't see where people are getting this vibe that he's looking for an excuse to leave at all.

Things do change and it doesn't matter what the kids favorite school was growing up in recruiting obviously. Let's see if the staff keeps him home by closing the deal on his visit.
 
It's just funny to me that he expects the staff to offer his brother, when his brother hasn't even played a down of varsity ball yet.

These kids are nuts. They expect UM to offer the brother, but they don't expect other schools to offer him. I don't think Latavious is worth allowing him to dictate those types of terms, especially with the strength of the DB classes down here the next couple years.
 
I dont understand the whole pitching ur less talented brother angle either?? How about see what scholarships he can get on his own...

Maybe FIU offers, still can get a college degree, and have the opportunity to get into the NFL if ur good enough and work hard enough.

Even if that doesnt happen, u got a college degree and maybe the more talented brother gets into the NFL and youre still going to live the life regardless.

His Lil Bro has 9 including USC Trojans. kid is pretty good. but he is a die hard Miami fan.

Oh ok, i stopped following recruiting a few years ago bc of Al Golden, dont know anything about Latavious Brini or anybody else being mentioned on this board

But i hope it works out for the brother then.. Nothing wrong with wanting an offer from your dream school.

But ive come to learn that no one highschool recruit is going to make or break a team so if Brini commits cool if not cool.

Thanks Geo. Staff obviously wants this kid bad. Too many people here take their thoughts to be real. When you got convincing and powerful head coaches and programs coming after you it can be difficult for some kids. I trust the staffs judgement and would love to see him commit.
