Last time UM had a legit shot at making a run was???

We had a lot of talent that season but probably even more so last year.

Enough talent to make a run.

I thought 2009 had a chance...then Whipple kept calling deep balls and Jacory kept throwing picks...'05 could've won one if they beat GT and USC or UT lost. That peach bowl was a fluke. Half the team was injured and no one cared (40-3 is still inexcusable and Coker should've been fired with how that year ended).

is it 2009 season.. that roster had some depth

2009 was our best squad in a decade. With a QB who wasn't a turnover machine we coulda won 11 games easily.

And Jacory was good, he just forced the ball way too much and allowed teams to get in his head! Once he threw a pick he started pressing and that's when things unraveled. I wonder if Randy would still be here if Jacory stopped throwing picks...

All Jacory had to learn to do was run for some positive yards and not try to launch 70 yard bombs between 3 defenders. The opponents used to play like 30 yards off the line of scrimmage because he wasn't a threat to run. His picks caused us Clemson, UNC, & VT (although Graham had the dropsies).

2003---- that defense would have destroyed the sooners, the tigers, or the Trojans that year. All that was missing was a qb, that's what hurt us. I know that fla and vetch scored over 30 on us that year...but look at all the defensive tds that those teams had on us those games. Berlin killed us that year.

2005 would of been second but that opening dud against fsu(**** munroe) and that stupid *** pass that wright threw to olsen in triple ******* coverage on first down inside the ******* 25 yard line vs gt ruined any chance and momentum we had.

A run at what? The ACC? Look no further than last year - roster with 30-40 future pros and a pretty good trajectory leading up to the second half of the FSU game.

2009 was a really good team.

So was 2007 and 2006. IMO.

2007 had a decent defense but the offense was horrible due to injuries and lack of talent. KW was hurt the majority of the year. Freeman couldn't throw. That was the beginning of an injury riddled career for JJ.

At the beginning of the year that 2007 team had all the checkmarks.

With a first year head coach and coming off a 7-6 year? That's the team that lost 52-13 to OU and 48-0 to VA?

Yep that's what they did.

At the beginning of the year.....similar to 2014 they had all the checkmarks.

Yes or no? Make sure you verify how many of those kids made it to the NFL.

I am too old to retain anything about years we didn't play for the NC -- except the Cotton Bowl. That game was classic Canes.
