McIntosh, Norton mulling NFL decision this AM after meetings with Richt, Diaz, Kuligowski. Difficult decision for UM junior DTs.

At this point I’m saying they’re both coming back. They are dragging this out to get as much hype as possible for next season. I can’t blame them one bit. It sure doesn’t hurt to have every announcer mention these guys both came back to win a championship. Then the color commentator saying how smart they are for returning in the senior season. That they’re talented and unselfish. It’s a smart move by these guys and for the program.

If it’s that difficult of a decision, then you aren’t ready to go. I’m sure it’s hard for them to pass up knowing hey could potentially make the league minimum of $280,000.00 next year but after taxes, agent fees etc.... that ain’t much. The likelyness to be but as a 4th-7th rd is sooooo much higher than if you are a top 3rd pick. Unless they are absolutely depaarate for money, this should be an easy decision. Come back and increase your draft stock, graduate with a degree from Miami and have a chance at the playoffs. Should be an easy sell for Richt and staff to pitch!

Norton can go. Just bring me Mcintosh back

Norton's a fuggin beast wtf is wrong with you?

Need the best 2 dts on the field as much as possible. And that would be Willis and Mcintosh

LOL, even if that assessment were correct (which it isn't), you should still want a top tier talent like Norton to stay based off of how much we rotate guys on defense. Believe it or not, the goal is not to wear out the starters every game.

It would be stupid for Norton to go because he's a commonly found, solid plugger, and not elite by any NFL metric - which is why the advisory board rightfully recommended going back to school. He will be a late round pick at best, fighting to be the 4th or 5th DT and likely bouncing around NFL practice squads for a few years. There's no guarantee that assessment improves but with a good year of development in school it would give him a chance to get into the first 2 days of the draft. Guaranteed money for draft picks after round 2 fulls off a cliff, and after round 4 evaporates into thin air.

Mcintosh on the other hand can go either way. His disruption stats (TFL, PD) both this season and over his career are competitive with Wilkins - who is projected to get drafted at the top of the first round. Mcintosh has almost no chance to go that high, but with a good combine he could sneak in between rounds 2-4. Though obviously Wilkins also proves the point that if he were to come back and have a big senior year, his style of play has a higher ceiling that could get him into the first round. That's the difference between $10M and $2M (2nd round) in the best case scenario for this year vs. next year.

Lol no kidding, I really hope he stays. Both of them. If not, best of luck to those young men!

We just need one to stay. Both would be outstanding, but even if we just got one, it would help our depth a lot.
