Lashlee on Joe Rose @7:40am

Hoping to hear:

- what he thinks about our personnel

- why he chose Miami

- his take on the quarterbacks, along with the prospect of adding a grad transfer QB

- if he’s close to finalizing the offensive staff

- what we can expect from a philosophical standpoint
- I haven’t had a chance to fairly evaluate our personel. Everybody has a clean slate to start fresh. Traditionally I know Miami is never short on athlete but I want to evaluate with a open mind.

- it’s miami..theres so much talent in a 50 mile radius any coach would be dumb not to listen. After listening to mannys plan and direction he is taken this program, I was sold.

- like I said everyone will have a chance to restart, compete, and earn the right to play. It’s a open competition. Clearly we have 3 guys on this roster who have been Around a college program, and 2 who have played a significant amount of snaps. So it’s a open comp. we want to take a fair look not only at those guy, but the guys who haven’t had a shot. That includes a incoming talent like van dyke. His mental approach will determine how he will enter the comp. but he will have his opportunity. as far as grad transfer,,as a coach you are always looking to improve your roster and create comp. that includes the QB position. So if we identify the right player and it makes sense, we are more then open to bringing them. And one last thing.,the offensive problems were not the only a QB problem. We have to get better around that position. And it starts in the trenches.

- we have guys in mind. But we want to go through the process to assure fit.

- Fast, physical. Create mismatches for the defense

Not to crap on you but, I don’t care

Anything short of beating Clemson in the ACC, or almost beating, is a failure.

The schedule is soft, but Manny has proven, Vegas spreads be damned, he can kiss to anyone

Including FIU
I don’t disagree with you, but with the way our season ended I’m trying to find something to get me excited for next year. Even if we suck, I hope Lashlee at least makes us fun to watch while we lose.

I don’t disagree

The older I get, and having kids, it’s harder to love something that constantly disappoints you

It’s battered spouse syndrome, I’ve learned that I have other options,

meanwhile Miami football is still huffing glue out of a sock, thinking it’s doing coke with A-list celebrities

Nobody gets any information from these interviews. If there's anything of interest, someone will tweet it.

On paper and in theory we should go undefeated heading into the ACCCG but who knows anymore.

I remember last year when we hired enos and he interviewed and said that he was gonna adapt the offense to the personnel, how he wants to be multiple, and be able to go up tempo and slow it down. That was a good one Dan.
You saw the personnel at QB. Dudes are so slow he had no choice.

Let me give you the Cliff Notes:

- Im happy to be hear, no where else I'd rather be
- Miami, Coach Diaz are committed to winning
- Love the brand and helping to change the culture back to championships
- We will see what coaching pieces we have and where we can add
- We will attack with up tempo and cause disruption on Ds
- Every QB has clean slate, 100% open competition
- We will add the right O pieces as they come available in portal
Sprinkle in something about SEC experience & the big stage and you have yourself a winner.

Everybody has been screaming for this kind of offense at Miami for years. South Florida talent matches this offense perfectly. It's exciting to watch and now that it will be employed, it might actually help keep some of the talent, that's been escaping, home. I know a lot of that has to do with kids getting paid, but running this kind of offense, in which the kids want to play, can only help. Lashlee looks like he's been a good recruiter as well, which is a plus.

Good interview. Still talking about coaching changes with Diaz, no surprises otherwise. He talked about keeping kids home with this kind of offense, keeping the offense player-friendly.

Still working to finalize offense staff.

Success Breeds confidence

Player friendly system

It’s not complicated. Wants players to play fast

Need a QB

All players start with a clean slate with him. Meetings players this weekend.

Knows how much talent is in south Florida and how they fit his system. Wants his offense to appeal to them. Recruited south fla for 4-5 years while at Auburn.

The better your TE’s are the better you will be.

Said all the right things. Ill say this, he just might save Diaz's job if he can get these players up to speed on the offense immediately. The good thing is we have a few weak teams to start the season so we can iron out the kinks before the MSU game.

I respect Diaz for pushing all his chips to the middle of the table and betting on this guy to save him. Its all or nothing.
