Lashlee First Year Expectations

You are seriously overestimating what other teams have. Our offense is littered with blue chippers and high school all Americans. Brevin might be a first round pick after next year.

We might not have the talent to field a top 10 offense and compete with the elites next year, but a top 50 offense being a miracle??????

there are maybe 25 teams that have more than one or two blue chippers on offense. We have around 15

Who are the high school All-Americans we have on offense that aren't incoming freshman? And have you seen our OL?

A top 50 offense with a top 20 defense means we should win 9 or 10 games with our schedule.

But Manuela is at the helm. So we'll go 7-5. And Blake will give him another year saying offense needs more time to gel and defense lost a lot of players.

In no way shape or form do we have 'very little talent'.

We have athlete for Lashlee to work with. Including the deepest RB stable in the ACC by a mile. Pope/Harley/Wiggins have as much explosiveness as you could ever hope for from an OC.

We should be top 50 on offense with any decent OC next year.

Everything about this O will depend on QB play. That QB room needs a come to Jesus moment, in a hurry. Here's hoping with a new coach and a big time recruit coming in, things turn around. It'll probably take a transfer or two to help the cleansing.

I expect improvement, with signs of hope for further improvement in 2021.

RB is unproven on paper looks good in reality we don't know.

The 3 WR's you mentioned combined for 1000 yards and 9 Receiving TD's. Our best Receiver KJ wasn't even in the top 200 in receiving yards. I know LSU is a monster and Enos sucked but by comparison just their top 2 WR's combined for 3000 yards and 36 TD's . The arkansas St. WR had 1653 and 17 TD's alone.

So as of now there is zero proof of explosive athletes. Can Lashlee change this?

I agree with all of this! My great hope is that TVD will come in and be the first “one“ that we have had since Ken Dorsey. I like when we had Ken Dorsey come in, our schedule is so weak and paperthin. The truth is, besides the FSU game being difficult like it always is regardless of who’s coaching who, the only school that should give us a real run for our money is Michigan State.

Obviously, when you barely beat Central Michigan and you get blanked by law tech, anything can happen with your team, but, if they’re playing like they have been coached at all, and that is my expectation, we should mop the floor with everyone if we can get a quarterback playing decently.

With Lashley coming in, the really is no excuse to not field it’s strong enough team to win 10 games. If the school is actually serious about winning, nine games should not be good enough.

I will say this about Enos. He knew what he had at QB at Miami wasn't working, and he went out and found a QB he believed could get the job done. I don't think TVD was recruited as just another body, but someone that could actually win the starting job ASAP.

What are your first year expectations of Lashlee?

Considering he have a **** show on the offensive side of the ball with very little talent.

B+-- Tight Ends Brevin is a STUD Mallory could be very good if he can catch the ball consistently and I like the potential of Hodges.

C+-- Running Backs Harris is not great but not bad either. Burns is a JAG and we have huge potential with the freshman but we still don't know what we have. Losing DJ and Lingard hurts here. C+ on potential only.

C- -- Quarterbacks We have some headcases here and this group is average at best. This is probably going to make or break Lashlee. Only hope here is that TVD is an absolute stud and can play right away.

D-- Wide Receivers We just don't have much talent here. Harley is Harley, Pope is a headcase, gaytor at heart and hasn't done anything. Dee Wiggins has the most potential but needs to catch the ball consistently. Payton really has to step up this next year. The freshman are raw and probably don't play much . Would have loved to see Jeff Thomas in this offense.

F-- Offensive Line By far the worst group we have on the team. They were terrible all year and didn't seem to improve. Considering the terrible recruiting at this position and what we have coming back Lashlee has a huge hurdle to overcome. Hope Rivers is ready.

My expecatations are low but, If Lashlee has an offense in the in the top 35-50 would be an absolute miracle with what we have.
I think your analysis are spot on. I'm going into this with no expectations. There are so many variables at play that could affect the final product on the field. You can't believe what you hear during spring camp cuz we've heard all kinds of noise over this decade on how well this group has improved or how well this person has grown and at the end of the day, it was lies I tell you, all lies... I will wait until after the first game before I set my expectations for this team. That way I will have something to base it off of. Outside of that it's just wishful thinking with no baseline to gauge whether my expectations are realistic or not, which is why UM fans always seem unhinged at times constantly buying into pipe dreams. This way as well, we can properly assess the performance of our New OC and all the other coaches including Manny.

Xavier (SMU’s RB) has much better feet and vision than Cam. Sets up runs well. Also uses his stiff arm very well. Natural runner. Plays that weren’t great by design were made to look much better by his running and vision. We will need the Rooster and DC to really push Cam and get some burn...

SMU’s QB was a Grad Transfer. His experience showed up quite a bit. Not really great at anything - no superior skills. But he definitely played the game like a QB from the shoulders up. He would make some good throws (made some great back shoulder throws) - but he also made average 50/50 throws that his WRs won (of course). And some dirt grabbers to WRs who were open for TDs.

I expect some excellent play designs - coupled with some basic designs we’ve seen before. But with much better tempo and spacing. Swing passes and option routes open up quite a bit in this offense - plus the drag/slant and goes are something we’ve been needing. I also welcome the RPO hitch look versus the poorly ran redundant slant.

Our schedule in 2020 is awful. Again. I would be surprised if we don’t jump 50 spots in multiple offensive categories.

He’ll be walking into a room filled with children who know everything on earth selfish and enabled to death and hit them with NO a word they’ve rarely ever heard like the old movie Sidney Portier “To Sir with love” type first day students with attitude.

Old folks here know of this movie a classic

First year expectations are simple: convert on more than 3 third downs a game. If Lashlee can solve the rubik's cube that is third down, then maybe Miami can win more than 7 games.

Should have been a D? Or are you expecting the 2 frosh to be lights out ?

The 2 Fresh are going to be starters by the end of the year so Yeah they will be lights out. You do realize Freshman are aloud to play right? Have you ever looked across the country to see if there are impact Freshman playing? You will be pretty surprised at the answer....

Once again like I stated in my original post POTENTIAL. They haven't played a single down yet. How many "studs" came here with huge potential and never did anything? And you are expecting them to be injury free. They aren't even greentree all stars yet, but you are crowining them to lights out.

Lingard was a 5 star and did absolutely nothing his first year.

P.S. Have you seen our OL?
