According to Barry. This may be why he left. This suggests that Richter has a guy for TE in mind and it also shows that Kevin Beard didn't impress him much in the interview.

Brown is our running game coordinator now right?

Scott was last year so maybe losing that responsibility and the believed increase pay at teennnesee were what did it

Maybe, but wasn't Beard's interview AFTER we found out about Scott's departure? So maybe Richt hadn't met with Beard at the time. According to Pete, the Beard interview went well. I'm not stating this as fact, tho. I'm just asking.

I did see that. Just thought it was really weird that Scott was offered a job at WR and not TE. I like Kevin Beard though.

Beard told Pete the interview went well. We have no way of knowing if that was actually the case.

I'd be surprised if Beard is the WR coach.

How do you know Beard told Pete that?

There were two people present during the interview, Richt and Beard.

I highly doubt Richt is talking to Pete.

Or Richt told someone (or people) on his staff that Beard was impressive in his Interview and that was relayed to Pete by one of those people

Pete has sources on the new staff already?

Doubtful.

last week it was tweeted beard was gone. no one has predicted richt staff at all. he has been close to the vest.

There are more people on his staff (support staff) then the recently hired coaches. You may very well be right though and it was Beard giving Pete the info. I'm just saying that there could be other ways the info could have leaked other then by a first hand account from the interview.

Pete reported last week that Scott was offered the WR coach position and he declined. Personally, I think it is spin to push Scott out in a respectful way.

i think that too. the week he was hired Romberg said the former players wanted the taint of golden out of the building. they referenced scott being 4-1 and Romberg said "yeah but i see alot of the golden phrases around. scott uses alot of his lines, its like they still have the taint" (I'm paraphrasing) made it clear former players wanted all non-canes gone.

Couple scenarios....

1. John Lilly is still a possibility as TE coach. That is clearly Richts first choice. If that happens, Beard will coach WR's.

2. We are looking at different QB's coaches to also serve as CO-OC. Hartley gets TE's and Beard gets WR's.

3. Hartley gets TE's and we are looking for a WR coach to be CO-OC. Jon Richt is QB coach.

We will know soon.

Makes you wonder if the TE spot isn't being saved for someone, especially since every team has finished their season.

Well, except two.
