I like Scott's emotion. I think he can influence many players with his enthusiasm. He can probably win their loyalty and their attention. But, he is not the HC that Miami needs. UM needs a big-time coach in name and accomplishment. That means someone who knows the ins and outs of the college football business, from recruiting, to buttering the donors, to putting the university on a football-first mentality. That coach might be an x-and-o genius, but his best qualities are to recognize talent in players and in assistant coaches, and then to organize them with one purpose in mind: winning a NC. Scott is a good guy and might earn himself a job under the new HC, but he doesn't have the experience to handle the complete reorganization of Cane football that is required. He also doesn't seem to have the necessary amount of SOB quality that will be needed to revive the program.
