Larry Scott Staying

Disappointing. Should be a complete wash out. Great way for those who don't want to work hard to try to split the staff and cause problems. Scott seems primed for that role with the Golden catchphrases and slogans everywhere. I'm willing to bet Richt is able to slap that down without a problem though, so whatever.

If this happens, and I don't think it will, then Mark richt wasn't the right man for the job. Urban retained OSU's mediocre DC and had no problems changing the culture at OSU.

WTF are you talking about? Ohio State finished in the Top 5 in scoring defense and total defense in 2010. What exact culture did Meyer change? 2011 was the exception because of the scandal. You realize that Ohio State had finished in the Top 5 six of the seven years from 2004 to 2010. When Meyer took over Ohio State was 1 season removed from finishing 12-1 and winning the Rose Bowl. The only thing Meyer changed was players couldn't get tattoos as compensation.

Larry Scott was worth keeping, he just isn't ready to be a head coach yet, cut the guy some slack he did a **** of a job keeping this team together and I respect what he did with Njoku and Herndon this year; not with Dobard though, I think he needs to get his weight down, that why I think parting ways with Swasey would probably be in everybody's best interest, Scott may be a good coach one day, he just needs to learn the right way under someone with substance, the regime that just left was Mickey Mouse at best.

There have been plenty of coaches that have retain coaches from the previous staff. Urban Meyer at OSU with Luke Finkel and Florida with Charlie Strong. This idea that Scott is going to divide the locker room is non sense too. If he did, Richt can just fire his ***, so what is the downside to having a coach that unit played well, and is known as a good recruiter.

In one stroke you say that Larry Scott is a weak yes man and a goldenite. in the next breath you think he has the balls to start a mutiny.

Logic is flawed.

Even if the players wanted to run to Scott for post game hugs cuz uncle richt is a meanie;the yes man in Scott would just advise the kids that there is a new sheriff in town and tell the kids to trust him.

Richt clearly knows Scott isn't cutthroat enough to try and give oxygen to the fire that could be a mutiny.

I dont give a rats *** about a stinkin recruiting video. The man can coach the TE position. Let him do it.

Those few months of being an interim coach dont mean shid to these kids. They want to win. fo

I can't believe there are pages devoted to mutinies and slogans. Richt isn't dumb, and Scott isn't going to be in a position to say catchphrases.

Im glad he stayed. If you don't think his evidence with tight ends and the team as a whole last several games justify his spot then you will just have to take Richt's word for it lol.

The idea that every coach should be let go simply because they were part of the past regime is incredibly dense. Scott has a good track record coaching TEs. God forbid he helps develop more tight ends like Walford and Njoku.

Scott is mini Golden. Dude's quotes were soft and g@y as all **** from the minute he took over.

Look no further than the recruiting video. He is a yes man.

Then he'll be a yes man for Richt, which is fine by me. As long as the TEs continue to improve and produce, I don't care what he says.

That's not the type of coaches that Richt likes having on staff. That's why I find it strange. I do like the production we have seen from the TE's but that video paints a very poor picture of him.

At this point we really have no choice but to trust Marks judgment.

He's certainly no stranger to big time football.

It's a 7? 8? minute video. You're going to base your entire opinion / analysis on his personality on that?

I was just about to say that. We praise Raymond for his development of LSU secondary, but we rip Scott for his development of the TE's. Even though Raymond is the guy working with 4 and 5 star DB's.

You give him way more credit than he deserves because of how we finished the season. With the talent we had on this team we should have won the games we did and we should have been in the game with UNC and as everyone knows we should have beat WSU. The team didn't get better in self inflicted penalties, so other than what he has done with the TE's why are you holding him in such high regard?

Read much??? Who said anything about TE development?
