Larry Coker

Coker can complain all he wants, but the fact is that he didn't have his team ready to play that day

We had way more talent than OSU but we let them hang in there

It's like Jimmy used to say, you can't leave the game in the refs hands, that's just the fact

So Coker can complain but nobody made him lose that game with a team of pro bowlers and nobody but him is responsible for winning 7 games his last year here

M. Clarett was a man. He beat us by himself. We stop him, we win. Fact!

Fμck Ohio State and that ref. Biggest outright theft of a football chchampionship...and no backlash.

No, the biggest theft of a National Championship took place in Oct. of 1988, in South Bend, Indiana. The Canes got absolutely hosed on what was the worst case of officiating in the history of College Football: The Cleveland Gary fumble that wasn't, the turnover on downs that wasn't, the spotting of the ball that was bizarre. After the game the Refs admitted that they blew it, but result was the same. The only blemish in a UM season in which they finished 11-1 and ranked number 2 in the final poll behind the Irish.
We would have won that game were it not for that travesty. Would have been Jimmy's 2nd title before moving on to the Cowboys.

The amazing thing when you look back at our history is that we could eaaily and I mean easily be the owners of 8 national titles. The 1987 original Fiasco Bowl vs PUS. The incompetent officials who handed Notre Lame the regular season game in 1988 cost us a sure title. Then of course there is the Fiasco Bowl part Deux in 2003 where we were clearly robbed by Porter on a call so egregiously bad that it should have resulted in a congressional hearing. You could also throw in getting screwed out of the title game in 2001 where FSU got to go in spite of losing to us head to head. We would have wrecked Huepel and the Sooners and everyone knows it.

There you go. We could easily be boasting about 9 titles in 20 years including a 3peat from 2000-2002. Think about that for a second. If that wasn't enough, we also played for the title in 92 and had an outside shot in 85 and 94. In a 20 year span from 1983-2003 we were a major factor in the title race 12 times while also losing a combined 31 scholarships in a 4 year period in that 20 year span.

We did stop him. Krentzel was their leading rusher that game.

True. Although if you subtract NCs we were lucky to win then we'd have less.

Clarett made one play. Stripping ST. But he pretty much sucked that game. I was young but I know we held him in checked.

23 carries, 56 yards for Clarett.
I think he needed the 2 OT's to clear 50. No so much a man.

Man...
Clarett with 56 yards, Krensel with 7 completions (2 int's), Dorsey at about 300 yards, and McGahee 76 with a TD.
If you gave me those stats before the game I would have told you that's exactly what I expected ...with a 17 point win.

Clarett didn't do much of anything in that game, except for this "strip" of Taylor's INT.

And it wasn't even really a "strip"...the ****** refs messed up that call, too.

Hahaa exactly. Only way to lose that game is if our star rb got hurt and the ref gave the game away. Oh wait...

You're right...

Anytime you play for a ship you have to count your blessings.

Even though we played subpar make no mistake-

PORTER'S BAD CALL COST US A SHIP

I will never ever get past it and worst of all I was at the game.

Coker and cane nation have every right to be ****ed here for a long time

Randy shannon cost us that game just as much as anyone

That defense consisting of sean taylor dj williams vilma wilfork and on and on and on gave up 76 points in their last 2 games

That game sucked, but we came so close to a repeat.
I hate Ohio Taint. Suckeyes. I even boycott BWW (outta Columbus OH originally). F that place too.
