Actually we are a sad.... excuse for a school right now. We made college football what it is today and all but created college baseball as money sport under Ron. Unbelievable to me that the administration never embraced the greatness of THE U. We supplanted, rose to ND status that took them 40 years, and took down whole conferences, but not one ounce of respect from the hired help. So sad. Can't wait to be shut down by justice department for the medicare scandal you just know will end up coming out of U Health. You just know Donna's greedy little dwarf hands have been in THAT till.

But what he has done is,

Win ACC regular season ship
Win ACC conference tourney
Beat all the top teams in his conference
Get his team to #2 in the country, (possibly #1, can't remember)
Win at a school that's not known to be a great high school basketball area

Which is more than the football or baseball teams have done since he arrived

I would think that it would far more difficult to recruit and bring in talent for the basketball program vs. football. You have to be on point with players in basketball given the numbers. One bad recruiting class eval and your program is sunk for a season or two.

Even Baseball is a thing of the past... how many times have we made it to Omaha in the past 10 years. It used to be an annual ritual. No more. And football is even worse. We haven't sniffed post season Top 5 in 11 years.
 
You want to see a real coach with a feel for the game, listen to his half time interview. Insightful and on point!
 
I don't know if anyone caught the post game interview with Angel. They asked him, point blank if he thought Golden should be coach. He answered like this....

I really don't get this post. Why can't you have all?

It seems the key to success is "good coaching."

The reason we're not doing well in football (mostly) is due to our coaching. We're recruiting better than almost everyone we play; we just fail to have success on game day.

We brought in Coach L (underrated and elite coach) and in his second year we won the ACC and we're ranked #2 (maybe hit #1). He did it with a group of players recruited by his Haith (except Larkin). The key factor is "good coaching."

You can. Look at Florida, Louisville and Ohio State for starters, but some people are just set in their ways.

I think some of these porsters may be halfies. You know, Miami Football and UNC Basketball. Something like that.
