Much rather have Kiffen than Schiano or Cristobal or Fuente and Herman.
Herman's at least close. But everyone talking about how Herman was so good as OC for OSU, well Kiffen was just as good of an OC when he was with USC, and now with Alabama.
Except Kiffen has loads more experience, and is the same age!! Thats why whenever people say Kiffen has failed everywhere I don't really get it. Kiffen was head coach of the Raiders when he was ****ing 31.
The positive about Kiffen over Fuente and Herman are we know he's one of the best recruiters in college football. I have no doubt that Kiffen would put together a **** load more talent than other coaches could. Plus Kiffen has the mentality that I'd want as a Canes fan.
I still think Butch is 1a and Hue Jackson are 1b. But I'd put Kiffen right after Chip Kelly (don't care how unlikely) and Pagano. Kiffens right in that Richt, chud, and Stoops range.
My Personal List:
1a) Butch 1b) Hue Jackson
2)Chip 3)Pagano
4) Richt 5)Chud 6)Kiffen 7)Charlie Strong
8)Herman 9)Stoops
50 feet of ****
9) Cristobal 10)Fuente
Schiano shouldn't even be a possiblility, he's Al Golden, but with a worse, unlikeable personality.

you morons homering for Kiffen like that idiot ***** at stateoftheu.com need to read this schitt
Rumors were rampant that Lane Kiffin -- then the mercurial head coach at the University of Tennessee -- would replace Carroll, but most players wanted nothing to do with him. Some knew of Kiffin from his prior stint as a Trojans assistant, and, according to a former player at the meeting who does not wish to be named, they considered Kiffin a "clown." The players contacted alumni and asked them to go to then-athletic director Mike Garrett on their behalf. They wanted Garrett to hear their disapproval of Kiffin, and that they had a better head coach in mind. Someone who walked like Pete, talked like Pete, ran down the sideline like Pete and could assuredly keep Camelot going like Pete.
His name was Steve Sarkisian.
and then read this:
"The AD didn't want to hear us because he wanted Kiff," says a former player. "And that was a huge deal because not a lot of players had a relationship with Kiff from before, and Kiff was carrying this baggage from the Raiders stuff and the Tennessee stuff. So the players were, 'Hey, we didn't want this guy. This guy is kind of a clown.'"
It is funny though how you guys are acting like I'm on the Kiffen bandwagon. If you looked at my post you'll see I listed him 7th out of 13 rumored candidates. Not like I'm saying I want him no matter what, just that I'd want him over Herman, and DEFINITELY over Fuente.
Most great coaches fail 1st or 2nd time as a Head Coach. Kiffin can recruit. Is a bright smart coach. My biggest question is what lessons has he learned? Guy is gonna be successful coach somewhere sooner or later.
