LOL at not wanting a coach that left their previous school high and dry... like your favorite head coach didn't do the same thing.
If you ask Lane nicely, he might let you suck his ****.

Very nicely put and right on the nose! They say, “A Tiger can’t change his stripes, and a snake can’t change its hiss”. Ole **** should have known what they were getting into when they picked this snake up from the side of the road. Now they are “surprised” when that very same snake bites em in the *** on his way out the door. You knew what he was, when you picked him up. You knew all of this before you hired him, but you hired him anyway…. you basically nursed his coaching reputation back to health. The snake says, “Oh I’ve changed… I won’t bite.” That’s what yall heard him say and wanted to believe. Fast forward a few years, and he just showed you how big of a POS he is, and has always been. As soon as you think you can trust him, “Ouch!!!” He bit you, and now trying to rip staff from the team and the season not over yet, lol. Lane Kiffin. Is all about Lane Kiffin. It’s actually kinda funny, if you’re not a fan of Ole ****. He got you guys as close to the top of the mountain as your program has ever been…. but hiring Lane is equal to flying too close to the sun, and now you’ve found out that you’ve gotten burned in the process. Lane’s an opportunist…. and he will always try to be with the prettiest girl in the room. It’s who he is. It’s who he’s always been. As he’s walking out the door, he probably told em, “Why are yall upset that I bit ya?…..You knew I was a snake, before you picked me up.”
You would have stayed at Ole Miss over LSU? Oregon over Miami? They say, “A Tiger can’t change his stripes, and a snake can’t change its hiss”. I understand the reason for their decision. I also think his petulant reaction sucked - pulling the staff immediately. I’ve repeatedly said he should have left graciously- and thanked them for the opportunity. He’s a slimeball and everyone knows it including ole Miss when they hired him.You know that I usually agree with you, brother. But this time, I agree with Bill Cower.
The Ole Miss AD couldn’t permit him to stay knowing that for the next 2 months he was going to be recruiting the entire coaching staff and team to leave with him to LSU. He showed no loyalty to his players that he supposedly loves. Since he can’t win the natty, he has now ensured that they can’t either.
I’m all for coaches being able to do as they please. But this was a major dirtbag move. Those kids have played through injury for him and given their blood, sweat and tears to try to win a title together. That’s not a good reputation to carry around with you. He’s not trustworthy. Players aren’t stupid. His future players will know that he’s a true mercenary, and they will have no qualms in doing the same to him.
How do rivalries start?
Lane might turn out to be the best fundraising coach they've ever had.Yeah, great win!
The offensive staff is decimated and you’re more than likely going to get bounced from the playoffs because of it.
The cope in Oxford is biblical at this point.
He’s a shady slime bucketWhile I think Lane is a dirtbag, your point about the NCAA schedule is spot on. There's no good time for a coach of a P4 playoff team to leave for another P4 job. The G5 playoff coaches who leave are given the opportunity to continue coaching, since their schools are just happy to be there and they aren't winning the CFP anyways. See: Morris, Sumrall, and I presume Chesney if he goes to UCLA.
Don't think there's a perfect solution, but there has to be a better way than the current setup. Perhaps a rule that Colleges cannot contact/hire a currently employed coach until after the playoff is over, paired with pushing the portal window back to after spring practice? This wouldn't solve the problem of recruiting with the early signing period and spring term HS enrollees for teams that are firing/hiring (and would actually make it much worse), but I can't think of a fix that doesn't have a negative tradeoff.
I took it to mean the AD didn’t think it would be a popular decision to let Lane continue amongst the people he has to continue living with after Lane is gone (trustees, admin, fans). What does he mean he has to continue living in Oxford?
I appreciate your point, but Ole Miss isn’t winning anything and Lane knew it. They had a very weak schedule this year. Beat almost all sub .500 teams and non-P4s.“If he wants to win a Natty?” His best chance of winning a natty was staring him right in the face and he took another job.
I hate to break it to Lane and everybody else, but that job is Lannings when it comes open.Finebaum said the job Lane really wants is the Bama job and he was upset he didnt get a phone call. Let Bama get smoked by Georgia in the SEC Championship game by 14-21 and miss the playoffs. Would be real interesting to see if the rumors of DeBoer wanting to leave is true or not
I don't disagree with your take on the schedule but the irony is that the coaches and ADs chose this schedule.Again, the NCAA schedule forces coaches to do this now. It’s on them. All the schools are dealing with it. It was the ole miss AD’s decision that kiffin not coach in the playoffs. Kiffin offered. He did nothing wrong at the point we’re talking about. The school AD denied his offer. He’s the reason Lane isn’t coaching the team.
No. Not at all. I'm not saying that he's wrong for leaving.... it's how it was done. Every person has a right to do better for themselves and family. I am also aware that anytime there's a breakup, there is gonna be some hurt feelings involved. But Lane, or whoever is speaking for him, is seemingly always handling these things in the worst way...... well except for the USCw exit cause he didn't have a choice there, lol.You would have stayed at Ole Miss over LSU? Oregon over Miami?
Don’t blame Lane for leaving, money talks bull**t walks, and Ole Miss admin is like Pontius Pilate washing their hands and thinking they’re clean. But that said, the aftermath let in his wake will reveal what transpired under his watch. People are already talking, texting, producing info as to the sh*tshow that was his tenure. He talked about his come to Jesus moment. But unless the RB coach they let go for was named Jesus, not so sure about that. Something about staying clean, or not. And the Coed’s are lining up to tell their stories. Sound familiar? This is why he can never return to any place he’s been to, and what happens when you start the bridge burning before you leave.I appreciate your point, but Ole Miss isn’t winning anything and Lane knew it. They had a very weak schedule this year. Beat almost all sub .500 teams and non-P4s.
Which NFL team does Lane leave for in four years?
Didn't Ole Miss offer to match any salary he got? I don't think this was about doing better for his family...No. Not at all. I'm not saying that he's wrong for leaving.... it's how it was done. I could see that happeningI hate to break it to Lane and everybody else, but that job is Lannings when it comes open.
This is pretty much how I see it. He was fine until he responded to not being allowed to continue by threatening and trying to take the entire offensive staff immediately. Just really bad form. And he’s burned the bridge at every stop along the way so it’s him.No. Not at all. I'm not saying that he's wrong for leaving.... it's how it was done.
