I love this move. This guy being named head coach allows him to offer full time spots to Kiffin's existing staff at Ole Miss. This could **** lane kiffin's attempt at stealing his entire staff from Ole Miss.

Why? We need as much of the staff to leave as possible, so the committee throws them out of the playoff.

Couldnt they just name him interim and let him see how it goes? Lane wants Blake Baker at LSU, not this guy. I'm not seeing why you formally hire him when you can just name him interim and see how he handles it

Ole Miss was 100% correct in that approach. If Kiffin wants to take the LSU job then he is instantaneously disqualified from coaching at Ole Miss.

Bo Schembechler showed everyone the correct way of doing things. "A Michigan Man will coach a Michigan team!"

No, they're trying to name a "permanent" coach in order to retain other staff. I.e., he and the school can beg the staff to stay as well (by offering them a job for next year). Hence why Lane was saying, "if you ain't on the plane to BR today, you're not gonna be on my staff."

We'll see. Im note sure all of them want to move to Baton Rouge. Regardless, it's a great move by Ole Miss's AD. It puts the playoff committee on notice that Ole Miss has a full time coach.

As well, word is that this guy is well liked by the defensive players. They'll likely lose the offensive guys to LSU via the portal, but they can keep one side of the ball. Again, we'll see how it plays out, but this round goes to Ole Miss.

The way Im reading it, the interim tag give the playoff committee ammo to move Ole Miss down. And by hiring the DC, they likely keep their top defensive players away from portaling over LSU. Kiffin will likely get the offensive guys he wants, but we'll see.

If they lose their offensive side it doesn’t seem like much of a fair tradeoff. Didn’t sound like Kiffin was even targeting the defensive staff.

That's why it was a savage move by Ole Miss. Yes it's a negative development for the Canes, but it's still good to see that some schools actually have proactive, qualified Athletic Directors. Unlike Miami's empty suit (and pants suits).

It is a good move by Ole Miss. And I hope it totally implodes so they are out of the playoff. I completely don't care about them, and want Miami in, by any means necessary.

Mercenary, not snake. Everyone since th Raiders knew who they're getting into bed with. How can these programs find fault with an escort who sleeps with another man? It's their own **** fault.
