Have you noticed that Corey Gaynor looks between his legs before every snap, then looks up, and immediately snaps the ball? He does this every time. There is no way that opposing teams don't know when the snap is, because it's about 1/2 second after he looks back up, every play.

Why does he do this? Why do the coaches allow this?

Thanks.

In shotgun it's a snap count. The QB has a tell, often times he lifts his leg or claps. The C then snaps it on the count the QB gave.

Some teams have the G look back and tap C's leg to signal snap.

Yes, we went with a silent count at home.
So having the other team know when the ball will be snapped is not a big deal? Is this common in today's game, or just at Miami? I didn't play past middle school, but that "hut 1" without the ball moving was good for 1-2 penalties a game on the defense.

Not if you vary it. Yes, it's very common.

Every..single..college team does something similar..even in the pros out of the gun teams use a G or QB leg kick
