Lamar Jackson is fantastic, Ravens are on a roll...until he gets his knee blown up. RG3, Mariota, Newton, and now Mahomes - each looked good early and now are broken down. Vick flamed out after serving his time for abusing dogs. There is a reason why #12 is still playing and winning in his 40s. Even non-athletic Eli Manning, who is not a great QB like his brother, won two rings. Rivers has had a long career and no one would accuse him of being mobile. Rothlesberger is big and strong, but not a runner - even if he never comes back, his career has been long and HOF quality. The only QB of the current mold that seems to thrive without injury is Russell Wilson. I hope Lamar Jackson has a long, successful career. I just don't see it when you turn your QB into an RB. RB NFL careers are notoriously short. Coaches can get some short-term success using a running QB, but they really don't protect the player's longevity. Perhaps, they don't care.

Wilson may use His legs from time to time but He's a pass first QB. Regardless, the legs are just as important as the arm, particularly in the NFL.
