That boy balling already. He picked off Arod in the first training camp practice and is receiving rave reviews from players and coaches. Im positive he'll make the 53 man roster and will be a big impact this season, just like Sam did in his first season. As a Packers and Canes fan, its crazy seeing coaching from two different perspectives. We're only a coaching change away from competing for national championships immediately! Oh, the Packers will win the Super Bowl this year!

I saw that too. Huge Packers fan and Cane fan too. I love seeing former Canes playing for the Packers.
 
When I read this, I tried to think of a time in Gunter's career at UM that I left a game saying, "Man, Gunter really embarrassed himself out there today." (we have said that about pretty much everyone else in that secondary) He even did respectable against Kelvin Benjamin two years ago. Didn't make himself look bad at all.

And on top of that, he did well at the Senior Bowl. They raved about how he was one of the few DBs who could play man-to-man AND play in zone coverage and do both fairly well. While most of the DBs looked lost in zone because they played mostly man in college.

I wish the kid all the best and have no doubt he will do himself and UM proud with the Packers. Esp if he has Shields looking out for him. If he needs any extra motivation, im sure Shields will let him take that Ferrari of his out for a spin. #undraftedoutoftheUlookatmenow

Hmmm..strange that a bunch of these late round/undrafted players are already making noise. If I wasn't mistaken, we didn't have the foundation for a good team yet for the past 4 years

I've been saying for a while now that he is worst coach on this staff and secondary is clearly the most poorly coached position which is a real shame considering it's arguably our most talented
 
I thought Gunter was a solid player...he just had a slow 40 times that had NFL scouts shy away....

who coached Gunter at UM?

when UM players have sucess in the NFL, it's because of natural talent? He never recieved coachingf?

let me guess, the NFL players coached ihm up in the 2 weeks of practice?

This. Guy was a steal recruiting wise and probably would have been a 3rd rounder at worst if we had a >80 IQ DB corch.

Paul Williams is an awful recruiter, that we know. But I've read several reports about how Gunter came in with the best technique of any DB they have had recently as a rookie. Is that credit to Paul Williams? Idk. Neither do you. He could be a fine coach and the scheme is just making all these DB's look bad.

The only knock on Gunter coming out was his 40, and other pro day tests. That's on Swasey and his group of strength and speed coaches.

He's playing a completely new position and had to drop thirty pounds. Hard to give credit to a staff for that .

Maybe just maybe these kids are finally playing to their strengths and not thinking .

Dl getting to actually rush . A db actually getting to use his long arms and size to press, not sit back 10 yards.

Possible?

Paul Williams is killing Al. It's all Paul.

If he could somehow get a demotion to the NFL like Franklin and Carroll we'd be all set to start winning again.

The reality is that incoming players have better chance in making the League because coaches overcoach [please note: not coached up] their players who, as a consequence, never get to really play with that reckless abandon (which is saving to players bodies) because they play while over thinking and always trying to figure the game nuances and techniques. Basically, while their talents are NOT optimized at UM they end up with a lot left not only in the physical tank, but with an expansive mind.

Food for thought: Don't slower players in the skills positions, particularly white players, who usually are college starters and on NFL rosters almost always said to have a good grasp of the game and having a background of being well coached in addition to being "coachable"? I know Ladarius Gunter doesn't particularly fall in all facets of the aforementioned category, but still, it may well be said that Paul Williams had him absorb good coaching from his DB coach.

I've always thought Gunter was a baller.

I remember people here tryin to clown me for saying it.
