I'm a 49ers fan. He was hot garbage in year 1 and look at the performance his team just put on MNF. To be frank, he was hot garbage in year 2 as well but has the team shining in year 3.

Manny has failed miserably this year thus far but we're a decent kicker from being undefeated or at worst 4-1. Think about that for a second.

Changes need to be made: Butch Barry who is a joke and this is on Diaz because he let Enos hand pick him from his CMU days. But this is Manny's first year ever as a HC and I think it would be prudent to reserve judgment on him at least until year 2. And when I say reserve judgment, I'm not saying avoiding being critical bc like I just said, Manny's looked like a HC way in over his head.

However, is he capable of learning and bettering himself and his team? I still think so. Only time will tell.

Kyle Shanahan can't hold Bill's jockstrap. You should reread the post since I wasn't making that comparison at all.
I admit I jumped a bit fast, but there was still some suggestion that Manny could right the ship and miraculously become
something that clearly he is not. Sorry for the mistake, but i maintain that Manny does not have the makings of a championship or even a successful head coach and I have always believed what that takes can't be "learned".

What it takes can't be learned? What?! The idea that great head coaches are just born out of thin air is nuts.

Let's talk about Bill Belichick some more. How was his first head coaching stint? Do you think he learned anything before his second opportunity?

Tons of people have referenced Dabo's first year.

What about Bill Walsh?

What about Urban who finished 3rd in a pathetic conference two years in a row at BG?

Have you seen Nick Saban's record his first 4 years at Michigan St? It's embarrassing

The list can go on and on

Will Manny succeed? Who knows. But calling for his head after his 5th game coaching is premature and shows a total lack of understanding in regards to what it takes to be a successful HC.

experience will teach some important things, but the essential qualities of a championship-caliber head coach can not be learned in my opinion. Ability to manage and motivate players and staff to follow a single vision, be decisive, have good judgement and a superior football mind, and have the intangible qualities that only a great leader has are essential and someone either has them or they don't. Manny can go to school for 100 years and will never be Nick Saban or Dabo. He should have stayed at Temple. I like Manny, but this is business, not personal.

The kicker is atrocious but that is not what is wrong with this team...

..winning 2 extra games would have masked the urgency of the issues on this staff... and we would be having the conversation after imploding next year, just like Richt's near misses hiding the flaws on his staff after the first year....

Manny needs to clean house on the defensive side and STs period. Also get rid of a couple on the offensive side.
Enos is the only one on a multi year contract... flush the rest

Our record could be better but the defense would still stink. It would be akin to putting lipstick on a pig.
6 days is s short turnaround but let's see what the defense looks like after Manny 'has more involvement'.

NFL is a totally different animal. Manny won't succeed because at a school like UM when you don't win things become so toxic that you can't recruit (which isn't a strength of his anyway). And when you can't recruit, well................

Kyle Shanahan was running 21 personnel with a fullback in the I-formation and called an incredible TD drive. I was laughing while watching that thinking about how Enos was probably watching and yanking his crank to that

WE have fickle, fickle fans who want microwave results. Well life don't happen that way, cupcakes!
