Lane prefers the term coca raton, but I see no other errorsIsn't "All aboard the Lane Train" the most common female lower-back tattoo in Baton Rouge? And Oxford? And Boca Raton?

One of the most confusing recruitments of the cycle. We were hot on his trail then outta nowhere we were just no longer mentioned with him. We got ours though, we’re good.
Huh?I like these updates because it says a lot about our evaluations. All the kids we really want are studs. Basically always. Yes he is a 5 star, but not all 5 stars actually back it up. The ones we want pretty much always do.
thats atlanta metro so pretty good competition. What type of competition is he playing?
Didn't we lead for Green once upon a time? There must have been something the staff didnt like about him physically because things were never the same after multiple in person visits with this kid. What are KJ Greens official measurables? Maybe I am wrong here but he went from a priority to basically not even being mentioned at all. And its been said we value Sr year film and this kid has it. Very weird. Especially since we are going after the "Big Red" kid. Cant remember his full name. The late bloomer kid at DE.
**** I thought so too.Didn't we lead for Green once upon a time?
We're a few weeks away from spring unofficial visit season, which will kick recruiting into a new gear. Here's the latest I'm hearing:
- A lot of talent is slated to return at DE in 2027, so the staff is more focused on quality than quantity. The names on top of the board are Jaiden Bryant (Columbia, SC) and DJ Jacobs (Atlanta, GA). Miami is in contact with both, as well as five-star DT Jalen Brewster (Dallas, TX), who is visiting.
Miami is gearing up for a huge recruiting event on 305 Day (March 5th), and the board is starting to clear up. Here are some names to watch as we gear up for a big spring:
- The Canes are focused on elite players on the edge. Jaiden Bryant (Columbia, SC) might be the best player in America. He is committed to LSU but visiting the Canes on May 29th. Expect a full-court press. The Canes remain all-in on DJ Jacobs (Atlanta, GA). The staff also likes Trevoris Finley (Carol City) and 6'5, 220-pound Adriel Rojas (Atlanta).
Recruiting is about to kick into high gear with a flurry of spring visits on deck. Here is the latest:
- At defensive end, Miami continues to push for elite targets like DJ Jacobs (Atlanta, GA), Jaiden Bryant (Columbia, SC) and Marcus Fakatou (Los Angeles, CA). The Canes got an in-person look at local sack artist Trevoris Finley (Carol City) at 305 Day and liked what they saw.
Irmo (SC) High defensive end and the No. 1 ranked edge in the Rivals300 Jaiden Bryant gave LSU his verbal in early January, fresh off the high of Lane Kiffin making moves at his new post in Baton Rouge including hiring his favorite lead recruiter and potential position coach Sterling Lucas. Miami was a finalist and they’re only turning it up from here.
FOUR-STAR EDGE KJ GREEN (NO. 10 OVERALL)
Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson edge rusher KJ Green is an elite talent in the 2027 class. The 6-4, 215-pounder isn't quite ready to make a decision, but there are some big players in this recruitment. Staff changes have hurt South Carolina's chances, but the Gamecocks remain in play. Alabama remains firmly in the mix. Texas A&M is a major threat. Georgia could keep him at home. USCe is a visit he absolutely loved. Miami is trending up. These are the ones to watch now, as well as this offseason, come official visit time.
As always archivist lindend makes it easier to find historical referencesThis recruitment is headed for a dramatic finish. Four-star EDGE KJ Green out of Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson has set Aug. 8 as his commitment date, and the race appears positioned to stretch all the way there. For much of the past year, Alabama and South Carolina have traded momentum for the top spot. Now, entering the spring evaluation period, a third contender has firmly inserted itself.
Miami is making a serious move for the No. 37 prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
“Alabama and South Carolina are still up there, nothing has changed, but Miami is really making a push and you can put them up there too,” Green told Rivals. “I haven’t been to Miami yet. April 3 will be my first time there.
Miami has inserted itself firmly into the conversation [of top teams] turning what looked to be a two team race [w/Bama and USCe] into a true three-way battle....JTs involvement has helped elevate Miami's standing.
My Informed Speculative POV:
Staff knew they weren’t getting three top-shelf EDGEs, and always preferred Bryant. After finishing second for DJ Jacobs, when they felt they had him, they were committed to taking that recruitment all the way through until signing day. And there was/is an underlying confidence behind that long-term commitment. So that’s one outta two slots accounted for.
Miami offered Green in September 2025, and Bryant in June 2025.
Sterling Lucas got Jaiden Bryant to commit to LSU right after he switched jobs. Before then, USCe was at the top for Green and Bryant because of the recruiting Lucas had done.
It didn’t seem to last long (the recruitment of Green) and D$ never mentioned him in the February or March Bank Updates:As the fluctuations in staffs settled down, Bryant still showed a high-level of interest in Miami that led them to believe they could win that recruitment. Bryant, unlike Green, had visited Miami during the 2025 season (Syracuse). LSU ramped up pursuit of Green while offering a ton of money, Alabama didn’t match, USCe wasn’t appealing without Lucas, and Lucas used his established relationships w/ Green and Chris Whitehead to executive his highest priority (signing two elite pass-rushing edges to go with the 3 blue-chip DTs they inherited)
Our temporary pressing of Green in February came immediately after the playoffs run and one month after the LSU commitment by Bryant. Staff would feel uneasy with two longterm targets having to be flipped; however fine with it only being Jacobs. They must’ve heard a lot of encouraging words (from the Bryant family) prior to the April visit.
Look at the language used for Bryant, “…might be the best player in America….Expect a full-court press.”
This was Bryant two days before he committed to LSU (1/3/26) at the UA All-American Game, which was five days after DJ Jacobs committed to OSU:
This is from Wiltfong on February 10th, and another thing to note was Bryant committed to LSU without having visited there; emphasizing the role Lucas played in his decision.
