Kuligowski

He never landed those studs at Mizzou when i read that (while he was coaching here i was worried)
Was it u @Liberty City El ???? I know someone made a post about him not recruiting. The initial hire i was stoked until i read the article that he wasnt responsible for the sheldon richardsons. After i read that i knew he would teach what we had which was pretty good but i was worried about him stacking after those kids left.

Facts bro.

Cornell Ford is the guy at Mizzou who was really landing all those DLinemen, he's an absolute beast of a recruiter.

Ford & Andy Hill did all of Kool's recruiting & Kool just handled the coaching.

Yup. Amd the same people who were worried about losing Kul then complained when Simpson left.

Kul is a weird dude and his technical genius is overrated, imo.
These dudes who deify position coaches crack me up. They act like there are position coaches who have some secret recipe where they can succeed regardless of scheme or coordinator.

He’s so incredible that Sabag shytcanned him after one season, and no one else wants him despite being touched by Sabag.

Sabag just got a lifetime 3-31 HC a HC gig in the Big 10. He’s dragged guys out of drunk tanks and got them promotions after a year or two. Yet, this allegedly incredible DL Coach is circling the drain after 1 season.

Tool built this genius rap off like 4 guys in 15 years at Mizzou. This “position coach as deity” model that some of you guys subscribe to is laughable. There are no secret recipes anymore. Get any competent position coach some talent, and put that talent in a good offensive or defensive scheme, and he’s going to look good.

It’s like the guys who slobber over Soldinger because he was blessed with the best group of RBs in college history. When those guys were gone, Sol wasn’t as smart. Was Pat Jones a mega genius RB Coach? Did he teach Thurman and Barry how to be HOF backs? LOL

It's funny, Im a huge fan of Sol, but even Quadtrine Hill told me that basically his advice in terms of running the ball was(and these are his exact words) -- ''Hey bro, just go straight and get four yards per play, OK?"

Replace “position coach” with just “coach” and I agree with you.

The cult of coach worship in college football is getting ridiculous. Players win games, not coaches. There’s a reason left tackles get paid more than head coaches in the NFL, despite there being a salary cap for players and none for coaches.

The market value for one player is literally higher than that of a head coach.

There is no magical scheme. There is no magical practice regiment or anything else.

Alabama wins because they get every 5 star in America, not because Nick Saban is some savant. Clemson wins because they have a generational talent at QB and first rounders at the DL, not because Yabo Dabo has some super secret X’s and O’s stored away in his binder.

This coach worship is stupid fan ****. 99 percent of the time, winning and losing is on the players

Kul certainly had me fooled until that final year where he didn't lift a fat little finger for recruiting. I lost all respect for the guy at that point. Won't lie though, seeing Baga pay for Richt's bad coaching eval makes me a little happy. Lol at the Bama AD expecting Kul to go out and find a new job right away when the contract would revoke a 750K severance for which all he has to do is sit on his lazy *** and eat donuts.

I used to agree with you, but now its turned out that he followed up his final year recruiting effort here by doing the exact same thing at Bama. Bama poaching him was a blessing in disguise, and while being a college coach while detesting recruiting is contradictory its not like he was being spiteful towards us.

Kool has had some excellent production units with some of the most unathletic lineman you'll see. Check out my posts about how unathletic and not special our DL has been over the past three seasons. Lots of 2, 3, 8 percentile athletes.

Then you look back at Mizzou...Michael Sam was a terrible athlete, Shane Ray and Markus Golden were way below average athletes. Kony Ealy had bend but not a great athlete. Sheldon Richardon was a hoss, but really, the only stud and superathlete he's had. Lots of guys that ultimately are average or non-existent NFL players. You can now add Quinnen Williams to that list. But also add Isaiah Buggs (1 percentile athlete) to the other list.

Smart men can disagree...but, I'm just saying he had done a lot with some really poor athletes in his position rooms.
Agree with most of this post but is quinnen Williams even considered a poor athlete? I thought he tested well

There are good position coaches, but it doesn't matter if they don't align with their colleagues and coordinator. Amd even if they do, it isnt some huge difference. What we needed was a DC who played upfield pressure attacking D. Kul coaching for Dorito wouldn't be a genius.

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that a RB coach is only as good as his product is???!?!?!?! That Pat Jones didn't teach Barry Sanders how to juke and give him the vision that made him the best RB in NFL history??!?!?!?! This is preposterous.
I think Coker might have been there at some point so maybe he deserves some of the credit.

Profound coaching instruction. I like it.

Thank God someone feels the same as I do about Soldinger. Most overhyped coach maybe ever.

Williams and Richardson were his superathletes and both were world beaters in college and both will likely have long term NFL success (Richardson already a Pro Bowler and strong NFL player).

Chise, I can't argue against anything you said here. Straight facts.

I said when we hired HS Coach Simpson that he’d do as well or better than Tool. Everyone was in a panic over losing Deity Tool. LOL

#Listen2TheLegend

Yet you were part of the "we just hired the best DL coach in the country" group when Kul came here.

Things that make you go hmmmm.
