Koa Farmer 2014 ATH (Cal commit) Top national recruit

Think Coley should take a look at this kid. We talked to him about Farmer on the sidelines of Chaminade vs Valencia game... Wanted the board to get a whiff of him before he gets an offer.
 
Saw this guy play when I went to watch Kaaya and he is a stud.

The video doesn't give a great viewpoint but on that run he hurdled two guys and then didn't break stride when he landed and outran the rest of the defense for 50 yards...and from the eyeball test he is every bit of 6'2", 205 that he is listed at. Would love to see him.

What do you think he projects best at? CaneClassic said Tight End, I am not sure he is big enough for that but he could be a very intriguing fullback/h-back type that can run the ball in single back formations...his team splits him out wide so he can definitely catch the ball.

He runs better than most from the Wildcat formation, but I believe he's committed to Cal as a DB. I'd like to see him at the next level with the ball in his hands at least 10-15 times a game. I can see him lined up playing H. He punishes people on defense and has a really high motor. He might project better on defense. He's just so versatile

In a vacuum I think his best fit is on O but for us, given numbers and his versatility, I like him a lot at safety.
 
National recruit? He seems decent from those clips. Nothing special to go all the to CA to get. Good size for a S though.

Was impressed with Farmer when I went to see Kaaya play.

cowboycandycane and I both ooh'd and aah'd at that run featured in the clip, even if it doesn't translate that well here.

I like him with the ball in his hands a lot. He gave Chaminade fits. He has good hands, runs well with the ball. He's listed at 6' 2", 207 lbs and looked all of that on the field. Looks to have the frame type that could go either way. If he fills out, I like him as a true tight end. Could see him at fullback/H-back, as well.

I'd have to see him play some more defense before I could say I like him as a DB.

He is physical in the sense that he definitely sticks his nose in there and isnt afraid to pop someone. My issue is that every "big hit" we see is him just putting his shoulder down. No form tackling evident, and if he is a safety, he better be able to tackle reliably.

Agreed here. Nothing pretty about his hits. Even the one on the little kid didn't end with a boom. And nothing in the kid screams "rangy" to me. But again...would have to see him playing more D before the verdict is reached.

This. There is one clip on his hudl senior highlights where someone does a stick route right in front of him and he has the opportunity to send the kid to the hospital, but he instead pulls up.
