As bad if not worse than that GT squad we just lost to....
Worse. Worse than all ACC teams we’ve faced but Duke.

One thing that did stand out to me…Miami has had a college football years experience disadvantage versus every FCS team that they have faced this year with the exception of Ball State. The Hurricanes are a pretty young squad. And were last year as well.

Perpetually it feels like.

These guys did a pretty good breakdown of Miami’s problems:

Starts off slow, but really picks up at the end.

Starters aren't young. What's their excuse (on defense at least)?... Despite frustrations with the defense going to crush Wake. Worried about Cuse though.

Can we trade our secondary for theirs? Surely they’d take that deal since our average recruiting rankings were much higher.

Fun fact: Taylor Morin, their lowest rated WR, would be the all time leading receiver at UM in receptions and yards.

15 receptions and 55 yards from being Wake's all time leader in both categories for his career. Basically their Xavier Restrepo.

Wait…our lowest rated receiver is also our career record holder for receptions and yards.

This can only mean one thing.

We need to recruit lower rated receivers.

WAY worse. Not even close.

GT is a good team with a very good coach. They're 6-4 with 2 losses when their quarterback didn't play. I'm not saying it's acceptable to lose to them, but GT on the road is a WAY tougher test than Wake at home. This game shouldn't be and will not be close.

24.5 is a ton of points to cover when your defense stinks. But we're winning by AT LEAST 2 scores.

Need to recruit good football players that understand football at a high level, have a good work ethic, and proven production at the position.

Morin was insane in Virginia HS football. He scored like 23 TDs his senior year. Scored 14 receiving, multiple rushing, multiple passing, kick return, punt return, fumble recovery, blocked kick and return for a TD, and pick 6.Basically any way you can possibly score. Also ended his HS career with 20 career interceptions, 50+ total TDs, and 10 blocked kicks. Plus won state in basketball.

Stud.

Didn’t think you’d take my comment seriously.

But, since we’re here, is Morin more of a case of a good player on a bad team or do you think he’s a legit elite player? The NCAA’s all time receptions leader list is a bunch of guys most fans have never heard of.

I didn't really take it seriously. Knew there was sarcasm to it but it was a fair point. Lower rated receivers seem to pan out more than lower rated at any other position.

He's definitely not elite. Not really a good player on a bad team scenario either because he's been around with Hartman and won the Atlantic division in 2021 with AT Perry and Jaquarii Roberson.

Just a technically sound solid football player. Probably sticks around in the NFL due to special teams and carves out a slot receiver role somewhere.
