Knighton to Wr?

Great points and post, agree 100% but I wasn’t saying it wasn’t in the playbook. It is, but Lashlee has to exploit it. We know WR isn’t a strength of the team, and we lost Brevin. Knighton has incredible hands, runs very crisp routes and is shifty as ****. It’s in the book, but Lashlee needs to make it a point to throw him the football this year.
I think all our backs are interchangeable out of the backfield tbh. I didn’t see a lot of rooster being flexed out to the slot in Hs I might be wrong tho

but I look at like this, I’ve seen Lashlee exploit that kind of match up especially when we get the run game going and defenses (LBs and safeties) start having bad eyes. Now as far as rooster actually being a hybrid slot kid, I’d pull back on that. We have kids at WR. They just need to produce. I’m not sure rooster gunna even be better than those guys as a legit down field option. Out of the backfield yes.

In Lashlees O everything is based off the run. When we run well it will open up 1v1s

Am I the only one here who wants to send a big thank you to the OP?!?! I mean come on, I log in first thing this morning and the replies are F'ing classic. Nothing better than a good laugh to get the day going!
So, thank you OP, your ignorance is appreciated by me. And to all you others, thank you for not letting me down with your responses!

I wouldnt move him anywhere. I would rather split him out and send him on sweeps and all that stuff (But I would do that with the Tight Ends and Chaney and Harris too lol)

We have athletes on offensive and they need to be put in space.

Open Season lol....you guys cut it out, we have to leave room for the casual, highlight reel watching fans. Hey OP, thanks for your contributions to the CIS board.....to answer your question.....No, Rooster is a RB for 1, and 2nd and most importantly, we got a RB commit in Cody Brown BECAUSE we were low on depth at RB. Would be beyond backwards to then go and convert a stud RB to WR when we have decent depth at WR considering we have three 4* WRs arriving in June/July.

“If Op was a bird he’d fly backwards”

I personally think he has the skill set to be an amazing WR, if the hands are solid.

I also happen to think he's going to be an amazing running back for us.

While a silly question, it does make you wonder how good he could be at WR. The world will likely never know.

Dunking on OP is fun, but this isn't even in the same galaxy as some of the retarded threads on here.

Full-time, sure, incredibly moronic. But I've been saying since he was committed to FSU that I see a very versatile kid who should be used a lot in the MOF. So the thread title, yeah. Dunk away. But IMO it'd be very savvy to get him matched up on backers in the middle of the field and on the edges. How do you do that? You go 21, you make the opposing DC play heavy, and you split him into the slot or you motion him out of the backfield.

So, OP, yeah, you're getting what you deserve. You should have known what "Knighton to WR" would bring. But IMO if he catches less than 25 balls next year, it's a massive fail on Lashlee's part. He should be used much more in the passing game than any of our backs were last year. The 3 backs COMBINED for 40 catches last year in 11 games. If I'm calling this offense, Rooster pushes that number by himself next season.
Not against more use of Rooster catching the ball, but if we add up all the off-season “player needs x amount of touches” posts, the offense would need to run around 47000 plays in 2021...

WHy not try to find a spot on the field for him. He is not gonna see any significant play at RB with a healthy Harris and Chaney., too small and not as fast as all of you seem to think he is. **** I like Franklin and Cody Brown more than Rooster.

But can he play DT though, that is the question???

All jokes aside, Rooster is actually a pretty good receiving back. I don't know if that constitutes moving him to the slot but we should definitely use him more in screens, flare outs & wheel routes out of the backfield.

Our backfield is loaded this season though (barring any transfers), so our rushing attack will be as versatile as it's been in a very long time.

Gonna be a tall task to feed 5 backs who want plenty of carries, it'll be interesting to see how Lashlee divies up the touches & who gets the bulk of the workload.

I can't think of any 5 back systems except for the GTech Triple Option style teams.
