Knighton is not hurt

If you assume thad and Parrish come back then next year you get Chaney citizen and a freshman. That’s five. But we had five this year. So unless knighton has a come to Jesus moment please recruit two freshman

Calls for Knighton to transfer are too much. He makes big plays in the passing game, so why would you want a weapon like that to leave?

But Knighton is just a straight line speed guy - nothing more. His reputation is he's elusive, but in reality he isn't.

His running style and fumbling problems are real issues. Problem is, Parrish & Thad aren't a whole lot better. They just haven't fumbled.

Sobering Stat: YPC since BCU game - Knighton 4.2 ypc, Parrish 4.2 ypc, Thad 3.0 ypc. Folks....it ain't gonna be pretty no matter what RB we use
Now show us the fumbles between those three guys. I bet one has more than the other two. Knighton is explosive but it’s similar to Wiggins who also had great speed if you can’t hold onto the ball or catch in Wiggins case, then you won’t play.

They want 2 rbs coming in. Knighton can’t hold onto the ball, Chaney is injury prone and Citizen coming off a major injury. Someone will transfer out, my guess is Franklin or Knighton.

I'm with you. Knighton now has 7 fumbles on 223 career carries. A fumble every 32 carries is awful. Parrish has fumbled 2 times in the same amount of carries.

Knighton also has some drops receiving. Knighton also had trouble dropping kick returns as a Freshman. His hands aren't very good.

I can deal with occasional fumbles if you're making big plays in the running game (which he isn't). I can deal with a couple drops if you're making big plays in the passing game (which he is).

My point was in terms of yards gained rushing - Parrish & Thad probably aren't much better than Knighton. They'll just fumble less.

I'll say it again, Knighton needs to move to CB if He has any hope of playing beyond UM, He's too light in the ***. I can't think of one player in the NFL that has His build.
What? CB?

He looks too stiff in the hips to be a CB among many other things. What makes you think he would be worth a **** at CB?

I agree completely with you. Duke had a few fumbles junior year the one at Nebraska still gets me but he was one of the best to ever play here. Knighton goes down way to easily also. But yes he is explosive.

Disagree. The only good play he made a linebacker ran him down.

That wheel route is how he is best utilized but he couldn't escape on a ball that was placed perfectly in stride.

Knighton/Parrish/Thad have a combined 525 carries.

They have 1 run over 35 yds on those 525 carries, with a longest run of 40 yds. That's a disaster.

We've had 1 run over 15 yds the last 4 games, at it went for 20 yds. Against terrible defenses.

The reality is none are even remotely a threat to house anything - except on the Knighton wheel route like you said

He tripped over himself, went down hard and easy, & fumbled all under Lashlee. Unless he literally has wide open space he is useless. Our fans fall in love with these dudes and hate to admit when they were wrong.
Nobody is in love with anyone but lets make sure we are clear..last year he was ALL we had. He carried that load ALONE. As a 2nd year player at 180lbs. He basically saved our running game toward the back half of the year. That goes a long way in my book.

Does he has issues? Yes. But he is still a 3rd year player. And once again, he is pretty much all we have. Thad is 240lbs but plays like he is a 190lb scat back..Parrish cant carry the load alone and anyone wanting to throw that UAB player out there when we are going into the core of our schedule has officially lost their mind.

Chaney and Citizen getting hurt for the year is what the issue is. And Chaney being hurt pretty much his whole UM career is an even bigger issue.

It was placed perfectly in stride but the ball took a long *** time to come down.
How does that make sense? Being perfectly in stride means that you don't have to slow down or turn around or make any adjustments to catch the ball. You're sprinting and catch the ball so you can keep sprinting.

Took a long *** time to come down means you have to stop, pause, slow down, turn, etc. i.e not placed perfectly in stride

Corn Elder. And He has action figure hips, far from stiff.
Corn Elder was a dual sport athlete and an exception making the move from RB to CB, not the rule. Knighton has not shown he has what it takes to be a CB.

Was Knighton a dual sport athlete (I'm genuinely asking because I do not know)?

One thing I will definitely have to correct in my defense of Rooster is that I thought he was a 2nd year player. (that Covid season has thrown me off)..He is a 3rd year player so with that I wont excuse him as much. But with that said, I still stand by the fact that he carries alot heavier load then he should. And he is probably one of those few guys on offense that is a threat to take it the distance or give us an explosive play. (Breshard Smith is the other). You cant sit him especially if there is not other options available.

The heavier load he was carrying was last year. There is no excuse for his poor play this year. He's been too much of a liability this year with drops (I think he's had 3 or more) and fumbles.

I'm not sure if Knighton played multiple sports in HS. In any event, whatever we're missing from the other RBs (ball security, speed, running through contact, etc.), Chaney has, we miss Him in the running game badly.
