I live about 2 hours SW of the campus where there are a lot of fans and alumni and can confirm they are not happy with him.

They can now. They could sight some type of failure to follow University Covid-19 guidelines putting student athletes at risk and not pay him another dime. The smart money is to open an investigation that concludes at the end of the season.
