Kirby Smart is a Corch

What makes yall think a Saban disciple, who (also) recruits at a high level, is going to fail at UGA?

Not saying it's impossible, I'd just like to hear the logic.

Other Saban "disciples" listed:

Bobby Williams
Derek Dooley
Will Muschamp
Jim McElwain

Regardless of how Smart does for the rest of his tenure, he still will have come closer to winning a NC at UGA than Richt ever did.

Not true or even fair since there was no playoff in 2002. And coming within one play of reaching the BCS Championship in 2012 (and getting a walkover against Notre Dame) is effectively the same thing as last night.

Coming close to the NC game is not the same as coming close to winning to the NC. And how do you know UGA would have walked over ND like Alabama did? Have you seen some parallel universe where UGA and ND played for the NC?

U cant run on bama so it is what it is, i think if they give him or chubb the ball they aint doing **** anyway. They put the game in there qbs hand which they thought was there best shot and they are probably right

Understand your point, they could have thrown it to Sony though. They also ran the ball pretty well most of the game. The QB missed a lot of throws during the game, they **** the bed. Fromm was the weak link

I didn't watch, so is this really true? He pulled Richt's players so he could get full credit for a win? No one could be that stupid.

Just joined this week.

Every single post is about corch Kurby. Every one.

He isn't a corch, but that was a corch moment.

Sonny was the guy you ask to win you that game. He did it against OU.

Up 13 and playing against a true frosh QB who haven’t had a meaningful snap all year in front of a pro UGA crowd....that corch status.
Look, I ain't gonna fight ya. We have enough battles with Baga, Hole and now FIU, FAU and UCF slurpers.

Bottom line, UGA is in the same place they were with Richt. 8-5 last year. A dollar short this year. And before the closet Fromm pheg boys show up, Kirby started Eason game 1, that's also a Richt guy.

He's not going to fail there. Richt didn't fail there. But, he's not going to out Bama, Bama, which is, was, and has been their expectation, along with the rest of the SEC. That's the Saban effect, this was a successful season for UGA, but to them it feels like an L. That's the Saban effect. He's 12-0 against his former assistants. That says something.

Fair enough.

Believe it

I'll have to watch a recording. I can't believe any head coach would be that boneheaded. I'd rename him Kirby Stupid.

Can’t be true.

What are you going to do? Watch holding a roster with like 90 names on it and then check numbers on every play for like what? The entire second half. How do you even do this?

This theory isn't even remotely believable.

He rotated his backs all year long and Swift got a lot of carries.

Having said that, he should've have ridden Sony more last night, especially with the game on the line, because he clearly had the hot hand.

I don’t think he’s going to fail, it just depends on how you define success. I think the perception is that Kirby is looking to replicate saban’s success and so people are basing their “he’s gonna fail” opinion on that. There’s no doubt he’s copying the bama/Saban model in running the program but if UGA fans or Kirby himself thinks he’s gonna reel off 5 NCs in 9 years then yeah he’s gonna fail.

If UGA fans accept the more realistic goal of being a consistent top ten team with a few playoff appearances and a national championship or two, then he’ll be considered successful.

Bama and saban have completely skewed what success is in college football.

Don’t know if it was intentional but sitting Sony in their last regulation drive was questionable at best. He put in his 3rd stringer and kept feeding him the ball when his most potent weapon who came back for his senior year to help win it all sat on the bench.

Domt know if intentional but good lord it was a terrible decision

I love how that's considered realistic. It sounds like the same type of forecast that is viewed as realistic around here.

In Las Vegas I was often called The Undertaker in betting circles. Simple reason. Every time some Happy Adjuster made a comment similar to the above I'd laugh and say give me the under. I can't remember a failure.

National championships just float all over the place.

What I'm saying is that Georgia was one play away from winning the national championship in 2012.

Notre Dame was overrated and was exposed that night. Georgia would've done something very similar.
