Is clearly not even close to 100% recovered from his injury. He’s not the same guy he was last year. He’s doing everything he can to help this abomination of a coaching staff, and I fear he’s going to do do more damage to himself than any benefit he’ll get at this point. Anyone blaming King for this disaster is misguided.

If Manny had any stones, and was truly looking out for his players, he’d shut him down for a few weeks, at least. But, we probably have another Al Golden / Stephen Morris situation, where job preservation is going to trump what is best for his players. I hope this kid doesn’t blow out his knee again.

I too am concerned. His future and his family are both on the line. He’s a lion hearted young man. He won’t shut himself down. This is where a coach MUST stop being selfish.

I’ve been hard on King about Rpo’s and zone reads but I’ve also said that falls more on Lashlee , because King struggles with doing both. It’s the oc’s the job to fit the offense to the qb’s strengths and weaknesses. That said it’s obvious what’s going on here , he‘s missing everything short most of the season and that’s never been a problem before. I’d be very surprised if he plays Saturday.

Good. Sit him this week to treat him, and go from there. No need to risk his body and possibly his career, not when we look like this.

You’re usually right on Canes football, so I’ll hold out hope that he doesn’t play Saturday.

Would mind seeing both TVD and Garcia. Both need live reps. We play Central Connecticut next. No reason many, if not all, the young guys don’t play.
I heard this exact statement before about the young guys playing right before the FIU game.... I honestly believe CC will play us close enough to were Manure will have an excuse to keep playing the "experienced" players.

He’s definitely not recovered. This same offense with much worse receivers last year, performed much better. He is missing so many wide open receivers, he may not trust his ability to push the ball.

Great things are being said about TVD, but he has looked shocked in his very very limited play time this year and last. I would love to compare him in game action with Garcia.

Knowing this staff more intimately than most, I’ll put my money on TVD if King sits. I’m not saying that’s who I’d start, but they’ve consistently started older players, even in situations where the younger player is the better off the two. Personally I have witnessed both and know the only way to tell who’s more capable is under live fire. I’m 50/50. Gun slinger with a limited playbook vs more experienced less explosive pocket passer with less upside.

This guy dove head first into a john elway type helicopter spin, problem is John did it for TD with super bowl on line, King did it for a first down he already had and was pointless. Ouch..

Its a delicate situation because we played that pointless bowl game when we shouldve opted out, of course miami luck he gets injured, comes back to play against bama in like 8 months for a 12+ month injury recovery. I dont think people take that into consideration enough, of course he is not 100%.. Now you are playing a kid who decided to come back, committed to program, got injured, fought back, and now is giving his all.

Then since we suck soo much, we cant even get any backup any pt to develop them, they sit on bench, instead of us blowing teams out and getting them reps we have to wait for UNC and Bama to blow us out to get these guys in.. smh

In practice it seems like Tvd does everything right,so of of course he’s higher on the depth chart. But in a game situation imo Garcia seems like the choice i‘d go to war with. Especially with a suspect D. At least at the current moment.

Lucky for me, I was deployed when we played FIU and La Tech 🙂 so I didn’t watch that garbage and pull my hair out, but my sister kept me informed 🤦🏾‍♀️.

As far as the game, If that’s the case, that means the whole team has given up. I pray we don’t see a mass exodus…. unless they are senior players who need to GTFO this team… Done with some of our “leaders“.

He’s a one read QB with average at best arm strength. Probably not 100% but don’t think his physical weaknesses have to do with one read decision making.

Great ambassador for the program. Seems to be a solid young man with a bright future ahead of him whatever he does.
