King Needs to Stay for This Reason

Could potentially be a business decision based on the QB talent in the draft this yr vs. Next...obviously his height isn't gna change but if he has a really big season next yr with Heisman buzz that could potentially change some folks thinking on him and they may be willing to draft him higher. As of now, I haven't seen any buzz for him draft wise at all from anyone
I agree a heisman campaign would be huge, even when balanced against his age ,etc. Just dont' have confidence in manny and staff that it'll be heisman like year given you have to win alot. And I'm not buying it yet. But king gets us closer. I hope he stays badly.

King is a force of nature to be reckoned with, IN COLLEGE. He needs to realize that NOW is his time to shine and leave his mark on college football. If he were to put together a record-breaking Heisman-winning season, which he is definitely capable of, then that would open up doors for him for the rest of his career not just through endorsements and speaking opportunities and perhaps sports broadcasting, but in business and industry as well. And it would maximize his potential of getting drafted as a QB and having a somewhat decent pro career, kind of like Tim Tebow. He'd basically be set for life.

On the other hand, if he goes to the pros now, he MIGHT get drafted, and he might make a little money in the short term but he's not really projected to have a meaningful pro career, even if he were to switch positions. So in a few years he'd be teaching PE or coaching high school ball somewhere or trying to get a GA position.

So his best option is to realize that college is his time to make hay and to maximize the opportunities that have been given to him now and try to become a college football legend. Of course it would depend on what Diaz does with the defense and who stays from the defense since King ain't winning a Heisman unless we get into the playoffs, and our defense is our biggest weakness now. If Diaz were to retain Rumph, Baker, etc., and if there were another mass exodus that would include Bolden and Phillips, then King might as well take off because chances are we'd be having another mediocre season. What Diaz does during the next 3 weeks are crucial to this football program and to King's future.

GO CANES!!
Sorry, But that’s not true
1. King is not heisman-good, so he isnt going to have a record breaking heisman season.
2. Ask crouch, white, weinke and a whole slew of others how just winning a heisman and not doing anything in the nfl worked out for them.

If he had a pro comp it’s Russel Wilson. This kid is a QB. The only reason he should stay is to continue to improve as a QB because in the NFL they don’t develop QBs. It’s either your good enough to get invested in or u better be a Chemistry guy in the locker room as a backup...tbh Stopped reading at Tebow..Don’t compare this kid as a thrower to javelin Tebow..**** I wonder about some of y’all.. in my prayers frfr

He can be special in the NFL but he needs a better college resume considering his stature. Come back and turn yourself into a late day 1 or early day 2 draftee in 2022.

This. The NFL also doesn't give that many good chances. Besides, QB is the one position where your draft age doesn't matter as you can play till your old

He has no receivers a mediocre O-line and a subpar running game! What exactly is he coming back too? If I’m him i start trading at WR or RB for the senior bowl
He has a running game and Miami OL should be one of the best in the nation next year. The WR core has to improve via the portal

If only there was someone on this board 🤔 to ask Gino Torretta give King that perspective from a Heisman winner...

paging @Bernie 2-0
Bernie and Gino always were in close contact with the QBs thru Jacory, since then not so much. These kids were not born when four of our titles were won so there is a disconnect. The Heisman brings many benefits through the trust and the foundation, so it is probably one of the most influential awards is all of sports. **** they get money from appearing on the Heisman House commercials. King is a solid player but to win the Heisman, plenty has to go right. BTW we haven’t had a top ten finish in the voting in almost 20 years and with what we have as a supporting cast King’s chances at winning the Heisman are slim. That being said he is not close to NFL ready and that is not my opinion

King is 47 years old. He knows Bernie. Get them on the horn.

Record- breaking Heisman-winning season. Sounds good to me. But, who's he going to throw the ball too in order to break these records?
There’s tons of talent on our offensive roster, and we’re bringing in more in this class. Who are all the great stacked acc defenses he’ll be playing against?

And hopefully an actual spring and full summer camp under Lashlee and a line that continues to improve.

Hopefully Nesta sticks around and we can look to add a quality DE with a lot of playing experience. If so, no excuses for this team not to be in the ACC championship game next year.

Not trying to be too negative, but did you watch the UNC game? We were totally out coached, outplayed and they appear to be more talented. We won 8 games and I’m still trying to find a signature win. We played two teams that had a pulse and the results speak for themselves. I’m not buying into Manny’s smoke and mirrors.

This is what has me most optimistic. Lashlee and the entire offensive staff will have a full year under their belt with these kids, King will have a year under his belt with both this system and his teammates. Once spring starts, that continuity will allow them to get a jump start and really get to an understanding point where they aren't thinking and just playing fast.
