King just signed an NIL deal with the Florida panthers. Wasn’t there talk that the players agreed the NIL stuff would simmer down when fall camp started ?

I just find it hard to believe that these kids will be able to focus on playing practicing and game planning along with schoolwork and then also manage this NIL stuff. The focus will be on making money.

And don’t get me wrong I hope king pockets as much cash as possible. He’s earned it. And he’s a hard worker. But I worry about the other kids who’s work ethic is not as established.

The amount of academic support all players get is truly impressive. For a guy like King, who's either close to graduation or already working on some other nonsense credits, there's plenty of extra time. It's been a while since I was in college (and at UM specifically), but I can only imagine the support structure has gotten even better.

D'Eriq King is the LAST player I would worry about over -extending himself. He's a smart guy. and it's pretty clear football, in particular the Canes, come first.
