King’s dominance makes him early Heisman favorite

I am surprised King has passed who he has to get to the top of that list, but if this continues, I wouldn't be shocked if he wins it. Keep up the zero turnovers and scoring drives and he won't be denied.

A win in 2 weeks and he’s your front runner. Everyone will be chasing him at this point. Follow the Heisman. ITS NEVER the preseason favorite. It’s always a dark horse candidate that come in with no expectations and dazzles. King fits this perfectly.
This x100. Beat Clemson, and he's the clear leader.

If we beat Clemson, King is in the the drivers seat for the heisman. That’s a tall order though obviously. I agree with swampcougar1- Lawrence and Etienne will cancel each other out for the heisman. They’ll also blow out teams and not play in the second half. Right now, I’d put my money on Kyle Trask, as much as is sickens me to say that. Here’s the reality- Florida is running the table this year. LSU and Texas A&M are garbage. The only team who may beat Florida this year is UGA and they are starting a walk on at QB. Florida goes undefeated this year in the regular season.

A tough mountain to climb, but from your lips to God’s ears.

I love the guy, but he's not passing Lawrence and probably not Fields. Frankly, that fact is the biggest reason he may come back for another year.
Agree. I think the only reason Lawrence isn't on top of that list is because he's sat out so many quarters due to early domination. Once the season is further along that will change. However, if we beat Clemson, that could alter the equation dramatically.

Nah, all good vibes around this program. This team and this QB were written off all off-season and even now. (Still hearing about how the ACCCG is going to be Clemson and Notre Dame--disrespectful) College Gameday is going to split in favor of Clemson. Vegas, too. Nobody expects Miami to pull it off but if Manny Diaz does, I think you'll see Lawrences' Heisman chances take a substantial dive and rightly so.

I'm sure King is aware of that. Not many times in life where you can point to one thing and say "if I succeed here I'm set for the rest of my life." If King leads Miami to a W over Clemson, he wins the Heisman barring a total collapse. It's not just numbers that matter, it's that signature moment.

You are wrong about Trask having an edge over King, Miami beating #1 Clemson and going undefeated is going to be viewed more favorably by the Heisman committee than Trask knocking off UGA and LSU, two programs with big issues right now.

And Trask is getting this hype because of one big game against a bad P5 team with no defense? Give me f#cking break. Everyone is really sucking off the SEC right now. Trask was a decent QB last year but not particularly special. His numbers weren't even as good as Malik Rosier's in 2017, and I don't recall any "Rosier for Heisman" calls back then. UF played 3 ranked teams last year and lost to 2 of them. You know what Ole Miss's pass defense was ranked in 2019? 120th out of 130 in passing yards allowed per game. UF has played one game against a team with legitimately one of the worst pass defenses in CFB last year and suddenly they are the team to beat and Trask is in the driver's seat for the Heisman. Amazing. Oh I forgot to add - UF also gave up 35 points to the 80th ranked offense last year, which was also 102nd in average passing yards per game. So that UF defense was shredded by one of the worst passing offenses in CFB last year. Yet folks want to give them the #3 spot. OK.
