No it was badly underthrown and Smith had to slowdown significantly. Watch again he had two steps on his man, woulda had 3 if he kept going full speed. Had to slow down so the defender caught up.

Absolutely no disrespect to Harley and Pope, because those two guys stayed loyal at a time when they could have easily gone elsewhere. But Payton, Redding, Smith and Restrespo in Lashlee's offense get me excited as f*ck. Best WRs we've had since Ahmmon Richards - big, fast, strong and physical.

Ahmmon will always be a hero of mine for the way he cracked that FSU DB in 2017 during Rozier's scramble. Was a thing of sheer beauty, and I honestly believe that one savage play changed the mentality of the team against FSU from victim to predator.

He slowed down because the ball is obviously under thrown. He could not get the other hand out as the DB got in the way since smith had to slow down
