Keyshawn Greene in the portal

Was listening to Ahmon Richards last night,he was on a canesinsight youtube podcast and he said there's a rule you cant transfer to a school you officially visited as a recruit. If true Green can't as he visited miami.

Tyrique Stevenson visited Miami before signing with UGA.
Greg Olsen visited Miami before before signing with Notre Dame.

Gionni Paul visited Utah before signing with Miami.

Has he even played a snap in college?
3rd college before taking your first snap smh. Clear sign that this kid and "his camp" have no idea what they want, I would stay clear if it was up to me 2 teams already wasted ICs on him.

If Green was playing safety last season at FAU,he's not coming to miami and starting at MLB over Flaff.Maybe they see him as an upgrade to huff and is the backup to Keontra Smith.

He would take one if he was sure they'd be a starter and it would measurably help the defense. He wouldn't just for depth.

That Vandy kid would absolutely have started. So I'm still holding out hope coaches know something that is going to happen come August, like what happened with Jarrid Williams last year.

TOC, I'm not trying to start an argument here. I legitimately don't understand your point. I read on here that Moore really wanted an offer but was told by coaches they were sticking with the guys they have right now. That sounds like a pass to me. And the Vandy kid would be infinitely more valuable than Greene in 2021.

I've tried to say it without naming names or being too specific. There are a number of guys we are still conversing with. "Passing on them" means we've eliminated them, they are not takes, they are not fits. We have too many porsters who are impatient about the process and who act like "if I just read a kid's name in an article, and then he is not a verbal within 5 days, it must be a pass". But that's not true.

I'm not denying that there is a lot of poker playing that is happening. We are hoping to get transfer IC relief. We are trying to figure out which of our guys will transfer out. We are trying to figure out the surgery/recovery issue. There is one current Miami LB who NEEDS to get surgery, but has been putting it off, and if he gets it done now, he misses half a season.

But these mistaken conclusions, that we are "not" taking a LB, or we are "not" recruiting any linebackers, or that any LB not committed to us constitutes a "pass"...are just incorrect.

I realize we have some whiny porsters who get resentful when those of us who know some information try to explain that more is happening than some people know. But, again, think about what is really going on. Moore can say whatever he wants. The Vandy LB can say whatever he wants. They can spin anything any way they want, and maybe our coaches told them things so as not to bruise any egos. But our coaches cannot comment publicly about recruits. So all of our porsters who take what a recruit says at face value, and then forms conclusions based on that, are only getting a fraction of the big picture.

@TheOriginalCane says differently though and he’s all knowing

I didn't argue that any of those LBs were or were not more talented than any others. YOU DID.

I did say that we aren't done going after transfer LBs, and that we have not "passed" on people you think we have "passed" on. We may take someone else, but we may also circle back around to certain guys. It's not over.

So a LB needs surgery, and probly one they/we all were hoping would contribute. Unfortunate.
Makes a portal take even more important.

*So just $.02..when one has inside info. a certain level of patience with other posters is called for. We're ALL fans, and the vast majority are reading bread crumbs and hoping for the best. In the process, there are a lot of times when things don't appear to add up. And while inside info. is appreciated, if the info. is vague/protected, then what benefit is it? And then to come off as in the know AND chastising those acting like fans (fanatics)....

Enough with preaching about being "patient", as if those porsters have actually proven they will listen to logic and explanations.

The bigger problem is with the porsters who read a few articles and then argue, over and over and over again, as if their reading has given them some special insight into our recruiting. Not to mention the situations where people like Cribby share specific inside information that does not ultimately come to pass, and certain porsters treat them as if they "lied" or made a bogus prediction.

Maybe this needs to be repeated: this is an unprecedented situation with the Portal. Completely unprecedented in quantity and quality. At the same time, the NCAA has been as clear as mud when it comes to guidance on ICs, and whether there will be an expansion in the numbers. A thousand Portal kids are going to eat all the high school kids' ICs, or so it seems at this juncture.

So, yes, there are 100 Division I-A coaches and 1,000 Division I-A Portal kids who are playing a nervous game of musical chairs, in a situation where nobody can compare the current landscape to anything we've ever seen before.

Get mad at the NCAA. Curse Emmert. But don't act like people who have some information should share it with everyone, and don't act like those people should be "patient" with others who can't take a hint and keep arguing because they "read" some things and they think they know what's up. And for the record, this is not even the first thread where people have explained that we are STILL talking with Portal LBs. We will take someone. But it won't happen right away.

Being patient with impatient/uninformed porsters is not the solution. The impatient/uninformed need to stop acting like anyone owes them anything. Settle down, we've got over two months to go until we can sign and enroll anyone. Nobody else has a stockpile of ICs to give either.

But there you go again, with conclusions. Because someone tells you about an injury, you make it out to be even more important that we take a Portal LB now. So your impatience and frustration grow.

That's on you. Don't blame others for not sharing information with you.

Not frustrated, I'm good. I'm not blaming anyone. Newsflash: I don't need your information. In fact, exactly what have you said? Of value? Just thought I'd make you aware that you're coming off like an ***hole. Peace😂.

@Empirical Cane

Good stuff. Between Boar, Cribby, D$, TOC, and all the other stuff I'm reading, I'm trying not to drink the Kool-Aid. So many false starts. But this one does feel different. And man, that 2021 class is so impressive

Regarding original thread, I just don't see how Greene fits on this team, cultural, mentally, physically. Square peg in round hole in my opinion.
