It’s hard to be a great defense without talent, Steele should stay for now. Steele is far from perfect but it’s gonna be hard to find someone better who will take the job as of now.Steele was about only DC that limited the 2019 LSU team. He put together 4 straight top 10 advanced stat defenses at Auburn.
His defense isn’t simplistic. It requires a good amount on players. I think he has simplified it since his firing from Clemson. A former player of his at Clemson talked about it being a challenge in college, but made his transition to NFL easy.
He is a good coach.
If our offense was 37th we’d be playing in the acccg. Maybe saying he sucked Is a bad observation.Told yall he sucked the day he was hired!

I think Steele is fine for now. Expect improvements next year as players get more comfortable with the scheme.
The one thing is the complete inability to cover the slants over the middle and anyone coming out of the backfield. Any RB that leaks out or whenever a QB runs its free yards. Makes no sense.
Still waiting for that receipt homie lol
How many good offenses though?Finished with the 37th ranked defense allowing 365 Yards per game against D1 teams, not bad considering how terrible the offense has been
Got better with Wesley in.Just waiting for the day we can cover the RB out of the backfield and not make every below avg QB look like Peyton manning.
Why do we always have most ineffective, low IQ zone defense year after year?
finished?Finished with the 37th ranked defense allowing 365 Yards per game against D1 teams, not bad considering how terrible the offense has been
Not really a fan of Steeles defense it’s too conservative.. i don’t know if it’s just bc it’s year 1 but I want to see more aggressive play-calling between the linebackers, nickel corner, and box safety positions.Finished with the 37th ranked defense allowing 365 Yards per game against D1 teams, not bad considering how terrible the offense has been
