Kevin Steele

This would make sense if I actually said that. Straw man fail.

He didn't even look that good against BCC. I think his first team D allowed like 360+ yards midway thru the 3rd qtr. His D did look good against Southern Miss and ATM and I was becoming less concerned about his defense. He was taken to the woodshed today. MTSU's offense didn't play timid even with the lead. They had all the confidence in the world and took advantage of his coverage schemes. Steele had no answer or adjustments. Very discouraging for sure after two solid performances.
I think where Steele has done well is more of an indictment on other team OC.

This defense hasn’t looked good all year. We tackle for crap and have no situational awareness.

How telling is it that MTSU only has one win since they played us??? Their O is not even to 50 percent of their conference.

With guys like Flagg Jr. What the **** do you need a DC for, the **** thing will run itself.

With Steele at least I can see what he's trying to scheme up. Blown coverages by inept players and packing the box with 5 missed tackles per play. He can't pack the box any more.

Its different with Gattis. His scheme is essentially sabotage and not designed to work.

respectfully I have to give you the finger, respectfully.. This is BS

Explain the scheme of Double TE and TEcory couch in box at LB?! These guys are jumbo in box and we bring in Tecory 5'8 165 pounds..

We played 31 and Travis left him diving at ankles. I know y’all don’t like Flagg. I understand it but the ppl yall asked for have played and it hasn’t gone well either
I know I saw the play too. The point is 31 has less than probably 20 snaps over our first 9 Games. He hasn’t had a chance to get acclimated to playing big time college football at all.

Agreed having our 330lb DT guarding the flats is next level. I can definitely see what he's scheming up.

My point is, ppl keep saying playing the backups. It’s not the secret remedy

Its a stupid call for sure but he's trying new things. He's giving the offense different looks. I don't like all of it but when the entire front 7 get steamrolled on every simple run play, what's he supposed to do? Get a waiver to have 12 or 13 players on the field? Not cover the WRs to bring a 4th LB?

I for one don't think playing the freshmen would be better. We aren't going to miraculously start scoring points. I'd like to believe that getting guys playing time will help them for the future. This year is obviously cooked and has been since MTSU.

You like your 6'6 320 pound NT covering the RB on wheel route as trying new things huh?! This guy thinks he is playing madden

I'll repeat myself since you can't read.

"Its a stupid call for sure."

"I don't like all of it."

At this point in the season, I am with letting the young dogs off the yard. But at the same time you’re burning redshirts and that hurts depth.

If this team had a complimentary offense I think Steele would be in a better place

Let's not leave this old fart out of the fray he got worked vs the 1st offense we faced. Those 1st 3 weeks we slept walk on D vs teams with no QB or vertical passing attack. Not having a pass rush, with slow *** corners and ****** tackling was the perfect remedy.

Whatever he is trying to do its not working.
That's obvious.

In 2022 redshirts don't matter, guys aren't looking to stay 5 years anymore.

I don’t feel too strongly about Steele one way or the other. But I do feel strongly that no defensive coordinator can avoid the defense having a defeatist attitude with the offense we’ve seen with Garcia or Brown. They can’t hold teams to 0.
