If and when Al Golden leaves in the next 6 months this man will without a doubt be the next dline coach at UM. Outside of Rick Petri I can't remember a dline coach that has done more with less. Below is an excerpt from his U of North Texas Bio for 2015.

Kevin Patrick Bio - MEANGREENSPORTS.COM - The University of North Texas Official Athletic Site

Kevin Patrick begins his second season at North Texas as the defensive line coach.

In his first season, Patrick helped the Mean Green defensive line produce 33 sacks, tied for the fifth most in school history. North Texas had a school-record 10 sacks in a game and defensive end Tillman Johnson recorded a freshman school-record 3.0 sacks in a game. Johnson finished with a freshman record 5.0 sacks on the season.

In addition to the development of Johnson, Patrick molded Chad Polk, an undersized defensive end, into an all-conference player in 2014. Polk led North Texas in sacks with 5.5 in 2014 despite missing the final two games of the season with an injury....

Should have been the dline coach this year... Melvin came in out of literally no where. Although I will say it appears that he is making a difference so we will see soon

Paranos is off his meds again.

What the heck are you talking about. I am just saying that Patrick should have been the DLine coach now but got passed over by AG and when AG departs as many have forecast whether UM does well or not the next coach would be nuts not to bring back Kevin Patrick as DLine coach.

I am hoping Miami has a great season because I just can't root against my Canes.

Go Canes

We'll need to have a new HC before we get a new DL coach. And that ain't happening anytime soon.

Dude.....you are 100% correct.

Chud will hire him day 1 on the job. Patrick is known as one of the best recruiters in the business.

Barrow also comes back.

firs they flamed the Randy Melvin hire, then it turns out players love him and he's a great coach, nmow they want another coach

this fanbase is a joke.

By all accounts so far Melvin is doing a good job. Hasn't coached a game here yet and you already naming his replacement. Assclown brigade at it again.

A$$clown is as a$$clown does.....lmao @by all accounts. Considering the Kim jong al regime and how they handle things!

Yeah, please let the new guy flame out before guaranteeing his replacement. And if Patrick is such a guru why has he scuffled to find a job? Why don't the big boys in the SEC or elsewhere have him on speed dial?

The first signs that Golden didn't know what the fack he was doing when he dismissed Rick Petri. That d-line was doing big things before Golden came here.

I hate this dumb a$$ logic.

You guys do know that there are fantastic coaches at smaller schools throughout the country, right? Somewhere at New Mexico A&M or South Dakota State Tech there's a football guru doing his thing.

You don't get coaching jobs by knowing more football, you get coaching jobs by knowing people.

Miami is a "big boy" football school. You think Kevin Beard, Ice Harris, James Coley and Hurlie Brown are all "big boy" football coaches? They got here somehow...and they didn't start at a lower tier school but I bet (actually I know) there's lower tier coaches that are better than them.

I like Melvin, older , old school get after them with solid technique lets see how he does.

I would assume that any legit coach we hire (which is what we all seem to want) probably already has his own guy who he would bring along with him as a D Line coach- don't ya think?

This is like putting $10,000 worth of paint, rims and tires on a fuggin 72 Pinto. At the end of the day its still a fuggin 72 Pinto.
