Kevin Beard

Disappointing. Great guy and the WR improved a lot this year. We'll see how this affects Sam Bruce.

you never sacrifice your season for one recruit. if hes a cane, **** stick. the entire staff needs to be purged and we need to let richt bring in his own guys.

Glad someone gets it. I have no problem with ice staying on in some capacity

Curtis Johnson?

Would be a big time get at WR.

meh....he was crap in his last 3-4 years at Miami, and he was a crap WR recruiter at Tulane

He did pretty good in NO. The list of WRs from Miami (96-05) is very impressive. IMO, Coker killed him.

Look at the WRs after Andre Johnson graduated. The Ryan Moore, Lance Legett, Brian Monroe the punter group towards the end. He flamed out, and was HORRIBLE at Tulane.

He was horrible as a HC at Tulane. He isn't going to be a HC at Miami. He can recruit too if not in charge of the whole team IMO.

Here is his list of WRs on the Saints:

Marques Colston (2006 was his rookie season, not bad for a 7th round pick)
Devery Henderson (dramatic improvement from 2005 to 2006)
Lance Moore (nothing before Johnson's employment)

I wouldn't say these guys were studs before his tenure. From 2006-11, his wideouts combined for 108 touchdown grabs and 35 performances with over 100 yards receiving.

New Orleans Saints: Curtis Johnson

Very excited to see more amateurs being told to pack their shlt.

Encouraging news.

Kevin Beard is a true Cane, good luck to you Kevin. It's part of the business. Put in the work and give Richt a reason to bring you back.

This is the thinking man's take IMO.

Kevin Beard was able to parlay the al golden 2015 debacle into a resume filler as a WR coach. Now its time for him to go elsewhere for a few years, build his resume and then make a potential return to UM, once his skills have developed. THIS is how we build the UM alum coaching tree. Its just not always easy to see such a likable guy and life long Cane part ways with the program.

It's part of the business. If Miami can bring home Lamar, that'd be a huge net-positive for the program.

Yessir, bring in the big dawgs, no more recruits and high school coaches having all the leverage down here in the recruiting game, all do respect to a cane (beard), but bring elite coaches and you will get elite recruits, enough of this high school merry go round kiss up game we've been caught in

Honestly, after watching that recruiting video, I wouldn't have kept not one coach except for Hurley Brown.

Larry Scott and Kevin Beard seemed to be on the Dorito train as well as Coley.

Coley compared the guy to Deon bush and Jaquan lol

I don't get why anyone would be overjoyed about this. WR were good this season and Beard is a Cane through and through.

Do I think he's irreplaceable? Absolutely not. But I don't see why anyone would be overtly happy about this.

What you said.

Who knows, maybe one day he'll be a great coach, but we brought him in too green. I wish him nothing but the best and maybe one day he'll be back.

His specialty is WR, no? Tulane had 3 scholarship WR in year 5. Explain that. After Butch left, look at his WR recruits.
