He is # 97 in red, this was Nebraska against Iowa, young blood got abused quite a bit by those Iowa olinemen.

Do you see the explosiveness needed to be an impact player? What is the point of having these tweeners play DT? Seemed like Blount generated no pressure on the inside against Ole Miss.

I think he is light in the *** both physically and mentally for playing inside he tries to slip blocks rather than destroying the block while generating pressure to collapse.

Blount is a tweener but he plays angry and even though on occasion he can get washed down, he tries to fight through it i don't see that tenacity from Davis.

If you want an example of a interior DT that is all about that grown man dirty work inside the tackle box here's a highlight of 2026 4* Dylan Berymon in the Under Armour AA game 2 weeks ago.

This dude seems like a jag to me
2 years of elgibility and this...
Keona Davis played in all 13 games with 12 starts in 2025. He recorded 32 tackles with 3.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and one pass breakup, leading all Husker defensive linemen in tackles. Twenty-six of Davis' 32 tackles came in Big Ten play.

At his size and our defensive scheme...you take that...kid wil get an uptick in tfl's and sack numbers here playing up n down our line. He also has put on 30 plus pounds in like a year and a half there so he is growing into hisbody and strength. Basically another Blount inside-out guy. Thats also Bacon in this recruiting class. Could line up in the 5i and allow Lightfoots and Picketts to be wide screaming off the edge.

Not sure if Ole Miss should be the barometer here due to their game plan and scheme.

Blount has been a disruptive force inside all season

Yup, gameplan on our part was a bit different. Clog up the middle, keep contain on the edges, and force everything outside. Sure, you beat your man up the middle on a passing down, great, but it wasn't our normal meet you at the QB attack.

…and let’s not forget this ALIEN in the #14 jersey who, with his freakish size and speed, can play wherever the **** he wants:
